New job listings on Crytek's website say they want PS3 developers. Now we all know that Crytek is going to port the Cry Engine 2 to consoles (or you should know by now), but is this a hint to Crysis on the PS3? I belive it is.

Yes I believe that the PS3 has the power to run Crysis the same as on the PC. And now after this new development, I believe that Crytek is planning on bringing Crysis to the PS3.

Discuss.

It's not. Period. They are bringing some other game to PS3. Trust me, this has been debunked, and the news itself is very old. The developers are not bringing Crysis to consoles, yet they are attempting to port Cryengine 2.

You did read that link did you? If it gets ported in which it seems it will i will probably be just as good on the PS3.

Well, we have to remember that they are also an engine developer, and after their statements that Crysis itself isn't coming to consoles under them at least, they are probably just trying to hire people to get their engine running on the PS3.

Already been proven to be the porting of the Crytek engine to the 360 and PS3. Not Crysis.

That job has been on Crytek's website for months and months, is common news that Cryengine 2 is Multiplatform for DX9/DX10/PS3 and 360 and they need people to help with the porting of the engine and possible future plans.

Crysis on the other hand, who knows maybe a year after or more the conoles may get it, but PC will have to wait about a extra year for GTA 4, sounds fair to me :)

Well, Either Way. PS3 owners are apparently in for something that up to CryEngine 2 standards

No I didn't read the article but I know what it contains and I've read everything in the TC's post before. I say again: Crysis is not coming to consoles. CryEngine 2 is.

2 years after its initial release on the PC, FEAR looks worse on both the PS3 and 360 than it does on the PC.  The PS3's UPPER LIMITS might be at the level of Crysis, but devs haven't shown they can acheive anything remotely close to that yet with either the 360 or the PS3.

I would be beyond suprised if Crysis wasn't announced soon for the PS3 and 360.

They could make so much more money if they do it for the consoles too so it just makes sense for them to do it.

I do not see the game being feasible on the consoles... the 10 hour long multiplayer matches... the gigantic maps... the physics... the DirectX 10...

I would surely like to see people use the engine but I cannot see the game being that much of a success on consoles. Porting the game and getting it to work seems like it will be just too much work.

They are bringing the Crysis "franchise" to the PS3 and 360. Just expect a watered down version of the actual game like Far Cry.

Ok crysis the game coming to PC is not being ported to Consoles But the developers said but a spinoff of crysis is coming to consoles which debunks anyone claming xbox 360 and PS3 couldn't handle the crytek 2 engine.

The PS3 doesn't have enough RAM for Crysis.

How much ram would you think it takes to run it?

I'm sure PC will have the best version but I think the effort to put it on consoles will be well rewarded by massive sales due to how amazing it would look.

This was debunked long time ago. I remember almost 2 years ago they were looking for 360 programmers, and now for PS3 programmer for quite a while now. Crytek said they would not bring Crysis to any console, and that they would be bring a new IP to the consoles. Just they didn't have any announcements at the time.

Is this related to those old news articles about them wanting people to be able to work the engine and not neccesarily the game?

These "listings" have been up for nearly a year. They were/are hiring engineers to port the CryENGINE 2 to both the PS3 and Xbox 360. They've stated several times that they are not porting Crysis, but the engine itself. This also doesn't mean that you will see games looking just as good as Crysis on consoles, such as the Doom 3 engine on the original Xbox.

Stop spreading bogus rumors.

They will not port the game. They are making a trilogy on the Crysis franchise (World in Crysis, and Crysis Wars). And Crysis can't be ported just like any ordinary game. It's PC centric - both gameplay and hardware.
