In case you werent expecting this (I kinda did), news came from the site that originally supported Crysis in the beginning.

who cares? christ, i get so tired of people posting topic about great games getting poor sales. A game doesn't need to sell millions to be great. And the only reason that this game didnt sell to well is because not enough people have good enough PCs to run it. I sure i wish i did. Crysis looks amazing.TOTAL_DEFENSE_0
Crytek does and their support for PC games will probably diminish (or would likely). This is also bad in the PC side of things because less support for a platform = lesser games which is always a bad thing no matter how you look at it.

Again, NPD =/= total sales. It's a fragment. It's like looking at 360 unit sales in Japan and declaring the console a failure.
Yeah but I'm sure online sales totaled to 50 million, obviously.
Well that's a shame. Don't know which schmuck in management thought it'd sell good when even the most top of the line PC on the market can't even max it out.
V_Isle
But thats the thing, you DON'T need a top of the line PC to play it. On medium settings it is still jaw dropping and the game can be played on most PCs (as long as they have updated their rig in the past 3 years). I just do not see how not being able to play it on max affects anything if Crysis is still the graphics king on high, dare I say even medium, settings.
PC games are vastly different from console games. A console game's strength is shown by it's first month sales, after that the sales generally die down. PC games games are the complete opposite. They sell at a consistent rate for many months. Also, these are only US sales figures. PC gaming is very big in Europe.

Does that make this news false?
It makes the interpretation flawed.
.First of all I want a link or at least decent proof that crysis-online was purchased by some other source and second if the (first is true) I want to see how exactly this effected Crysis-Online's integrity.

It doesn't matter. You can't see the flaw in interpretation that US NPD retail = total sales?
Im really happy it's not sellin well, I have a high end pc and got this game and took it back after a couple of days it slows down even on low settings for some bizzare reason the game just isnt optimized at all!! I have a 8800gts640 with 4 gigs in my comp.
serves them right for making a game nobody can play, and the game just isnt the same on medium.

I guess you can add a little more percentage in those numbers by adding the EA downloads there or Gamestops but otherwise you cant deny that things arent going well for Crysis if it's US retail salesare poor. Sure in other places like Europe or the UK wherethe sales might be drastically different (Which again I doubt and we'll have to see about it) but seriously its just a darn shame that Crysis had to force upon a upgrade to actaully allow those players that arent heavily invested in PC games that missed the chance to play it.
This might be the reasons why The Witcher and Call of Duty 4 in the otherhand was wildly successful in comparison, they didnt need toforce a upgradeon the consumers part in order to get smooth working framerates and they were both superb games that actually show that PC gamesis still strong and affordable. Its just that the PCdevelopers today needs to realize that they dont actually want to upgrade to play the kind of game thatthey otherwise would enjoy.
Finally, poor sales for a big budget game (im assuming) like Crysis is a terrible thing no matter how you look at it.

Agreeing with you here. NPD's The Witcher sales were something like 20,000 units sold via retail outlets in the US as counted by NPD, and the game cleared 1 million units in that same timeframe NPD was watching.Yeah....no. You're so full of crap that it's not even funny.Im really happy it's not sellin well, I have a high end pc and got this game and took it back after a couple of days it slows down even on low settings for some bizzare reason the game just isnt optimized at all!! Again, you assume but as other games show you the retail NPD is not an accurate paradigm for global sales. Let's just wait to see. Remember in Germany and the UK, Crysis sat on the top ten charts.
Why do people care about Sales anyways :S

I know im assuming the situation (As I kinda said in the post)and im currently waiting to see if im worried for no partciular reason or if Crysis really did sell poorly world-wide.
Im just stating that if Crysis did sell poorly which I think it did, it would be a terrible thing.
