To me it looks like the mountains in those Alan Awake screens or 20 kms away while the one in this pic is probably, at most, 1 km away.

Crysis is nothing more than a next gen Instincts if you ask me That Crysis pic is so old. It isn't even Dx10 I'm pretty sure (most of Crysis's screenshots aren't). It can't be shown as a comparison of what Crysis actually looks like.

For a while I was thinking they were pretty close, but now I see that Alan Wake has some pretty bland and flat looking trees. While I knew Crysis's trees would be dynamic and destructible, A. Wake looked good because they crammed so many on one screen.
Notice here a real-time earthquake is happening.
Another reason why Crysis looks insanely better in motion -- which is why it will have fantastic gameplay.
Not to mention Remedy specifically showed off Alan Awake just for graphics at all of it's showings so far. The only show place where Crytek went to show only it's graphics was at GDC last year -- practically the first ever build of the game.
