Crysis VS Metro

I think Crysis 1 is the best game of the bunch.

as a trilogy, Metro is more consistent and I'd take it over the Crysis trilogy. so I voted Metro

While i know this is just to bait ghost, if i somehow take the question seriously, i'd have to go with Metro, but that is not to say that the series isn't a mess on many areas. Don't like anything in Crysis. For 07-10 standards, crysis 1 and warhead were "good" games with amazing visuals, but these days i expect more than generic looking level design and copy pastorino enemies.

Crysis gets my vote although to be fair it’s basically by default. Played Crysis 2 and 3. I enjoyed those well enough. Played one of the Metro games, not sure which one, a few years ago but wasn’t really all that into it to continue playing it.

@kazumakiryu21: While Crysis 2 is kind of a shit heap, with an incomprehensible story, the soundtrack and the alien battles, particularly Times Square are pretty dope.

Still has the problem of AI spazzing out, but it's a big step up from easily dispatched North Koreans.

Crysis 2 and 3 are utter garbage, some of the worst FPS I played last gen. Metro 2 was at least decent, but haven't played the rest so I'm not sure how to vote.

Crysis had a great first game.

Metro has been a consistently good series.

Also Metro 2033 redux blows Crysis remastered out of the stratosphere.

Eventhought Crysis 1 is the better game, I'll go with Metro. Because it's actually still relevant.

Surprised you didn't include Warhead as I always say both Crysis 1 & Warhead are mileage better in every way. Anyway, as a Crysis fan, I will point out that Metro has more going for than Crysis and I also like how Exodus looked in terms of graphic and more gameplay going so. Voted Metro.

Edit: It should be noted that I like Crysis 3 than 2 if I'm being honest and this isn't me saying its better than Crysis 1/Warhead cause it's not.

Metro is better.

Better atmosphere, Better story, Better graphics (yes), Gore (crysis doensot have Gore)

although Crysis does better destruction and physics.

Crysis 1 + Warhead dope. Don't care for the others or the Metro games at all.

As a complete series, I would say it's almost a tie since Metro kept getting better however it started as a CoD clone so that's not much.

However Crysis is a better game than the rest. Like it's not even a comparison. I would also add, Crysis: Warhead and Crysis Wars - an often neglected game. Both of those were excellent as well.

Metro's fine but Crysis was way more fun in most respects for me. Just much more space for improvisation.

Crysis. Mainly for Crysis 1 and Warhead.

I like how the Crysis series lets me switch between action and stealth, Metro series is pretty much a stealth series. Yeah you can take enemies head on but it is much more difficult with their game mechanics, the nanosuit in Crysis allows you take on situations in more variety of ways and seamlessly transition between them.

Thats the thing.

Metro either keep getting better or remain in quality. Crysis decline in quality after each game.

speaking of third game. difference between Crysis 3 and Metro Exodus is day and night that I always forgot Crysis 3 even exist. as Crysis 3 is among the most forgattable and one of the worst tech demo ever made.

I think I agree. Crysis 1 was so good, along with the Warhead expansion, but Crysis 2 and 3 were just so... meh.

All of the Metro games are at least good to me, so I voted Metro.

Crysis one, then Metro 1, all other games in series aren't that good.

I like the first Crysis more then all of the Metro games combined but since we are taking into account of the entire series I'm going with Metro but it's only due for my complete hatred of the Crysis dumbed down trash sequels.

First Crysis and Warhead far better than anything we've seen from any Metro which got steadily worse with each entry, culminating in Exodus one of the most boring games ever made.

So yeah, Crysis. And huge lolz at Ghost claiming Metro ever had any kind of story let alone a better one than Crysis.

Ya, gotta go with this. Crysis 1 (plus Warhead) is one of my favorite shooters of all time; I Love the setting, the gameplay, the suit mechanics....everything. The semi-sandbox nature of the level design is the best of both worlds, mixing freedom of choice with lots of detail.

But then Crysis 2 came out. And Crysis 3. Blargh...I still really enjoyed them, but objectively speaking I have a lot of reasons not to. But I am a fan of the series so, c'est la vie.

Metro on the other hand is great, but not really my favorite series. But! as a series, it is much better than the Crysis series.

TL;DR: it's tie between the two. On one hand I can look past the faults of Crysis 2 and 3 and enjoy them, but on the other hand the Metro series has been simply fantastic.

That's because you're a console peasant and you like it when once-mighty devs debase themselves and cater to the lowest common denominator...

...nah, I kid. I consider Crysis 2 a guilty pleasure because despite its flaws it is still Crysis and I kind of like Crysis as a whole. I really enjoyed the plot, to be frank; the whole concept of the nanosuit being this sort of sentient entity that evolves and fuses with the host is kind of cool.

I prefer Metro, especially the first 2 (Exodus was ok).

you are correct sir, I should have mentioned Warhead. great stand alone expansion and right up there with Crysis 1.

I’ve played through Crysis 1-3 (+warhead) and the first two Metro games, but not the new one. I don’t think neither franchise is super great, but both are enjoyable for sure. I think Crysis has better gameplay, while Metro has better atmosphere and a more interesting premise. Overall I guess I enjoyed Crysis a bit more personally.

I give the edge to Crisis though since I have never enjoyed playing any part of the Metro games, although I haven't played the most recent entry.

Crysis+Warhead was really fun. Took very good advantage of PCs hardware and controls too. Tried 2, thought it sucked, didn't bother with 3.

I enjoyed Metro 2033 for what it was. A better CoD campaign with a STALKER theme. Last Light was ok, but I became pretty bored with it while playing it. Exodus was a slog, dropped interest almost immediately and quit.

Crysis did more for me and gets the vote.

Tough one, back in the day when I used to have a solid rig Crysis would always be my favorite.

I love Metro series as well, read the books which are fantastic.

Today I would say I prefer them both equally, Crysis 2 still remains my favorite and I look forward to the 2 % 3 later this year.

Crysis is better than any Metro game, but the other Crysis games are rubbish. Also, we'll probably never see a graphics king like Crysis again...

A good bout, but I enjoy the uptempo shooting of Crysis over the plodding, pseudo-stealth employed by Metro. Still need to play Exodus; June 18th can’t arrive soon enough.

I go Metro, but only for 2033 and Last Light Redux versions, I cared not for Exodus. These games balanced their variation in gameplay, stealth, action, mixing up human drama, creepy paranormal stuff, surface survival, human enemies, monsters. Exodus just felt like it didn't juggle these things, and really overstayed its time in them.

yeah, just because metro is based on a novel does not a. auto qualify the games as having a good story or b. mean the stories translate well to video games. the characters, accents and dialogue are generally dreadful, and it's (the first two games at least) painfully overly cinematic / on rails. give me an option for a fps and i'll take the kind of story from crysis 1 and warhead any day of the week. it's unintrusive, cohesive, has decent characters and is interesting enough to carry the game for its duration. shame about what happened with the sequel and the cliffhanger set up by the first game that got swept under the rug
