[QUOTE="Mr_aLdi"]no... acutally im not quake 4 graphics arent even good jetpower3
I don't know. Your ongoing arguments on the RSX, low level, constantly shifting opinions, and style of typing and non-quoting all seem to match him.
I can tell you a few.. epic trolls... if you see these people EVER again then just walk away... I wasn't arguing that the Cryengine 2 is a very superior engine, but I am saying that you just remind me of something who has been known to frequently make these types of biased/ exaggerated claims, which may as well be you (and it's not low level of typing, but low level and posting count).
Crysis is ahead of every game by a huge amount. Even the latest hardware cannot run crysis on full high smoothly. Crysis will not be able to go on the ps3 or xbox 360 because theres not enough ram and the gpus on them just straight up suck balls. RSX is 7 series gpu's which cannot even play crysis on medium with aa and as for the 360 gpu ati graphics card have a really hard time rendering the shadows in crysis. Crysis dumbed down would be pointless because the game is really ment for its graphics Mr_aLdi
Yes, we all know...PCs >>> consoles graphically.
What I'll never understand is why hermits beat this dead horse over and over and brag about it. Of course PCs are greater than consoles graphically. You can't go out and buy the newest, latest card and stick it in your console. You have to wait 4, 5, 6 years until the next console comes out. During a console generation, graphics improve little by little from developers learning to get the most graphical power they can get.

And it will be like that until the very far off future, when games will not even need physical components to run on.

There was this game called hmmm Outcast is a game that didn't run well on any hardware for years, but it wasn't exactly beautiful (ok apart from style and certain effects (water)).Outcast as in Cutter Slade(worst name ever?), Fae Rhan, Adelpha, majestic orchestrated soundtrack, and other such things? The main reason that game was too much for hardware at the time was because the terrain was rendered in voxels, not polygons. Hardware graphics accelerators can't work with voxels, thus the game had to be software-rendered, putting an enormous strain on the CPU. And speaking of late-1990s games that were demanding on hardware, remember Trespasser? That game at the time of its release made even the best of systems drop to their hypothetical knees, but that was mostly because the physics engine was so advanced for the time that it wouldn't be outclassed until games like Half-Life 2 released. Anyway, on to the TC... -There will be games in the future that will make even Crysis look dated. It'll just take a few years for them to release. -The current consoles definitely couldn't handle Crysis as it is, but mostly because of a lack of RAM. To get the game to fit into merely 512 MB of RAM, they'll have to scale back on the map size, though that kind of goes against the whole point of Crysis to me. -Crysis is not just about the graphics. IMHO, it plays better than roughly 90% of all the FPSs out there since it gives me the tools(in particular, the nanosuit)and the freedom to achieve my objectives however I wish, whether that be Rambo-style guns blazing or Predator-style skulking around and picking off my enemies one by one(which is how I generally play due to its effectiveness).
Just to say it doesn't mean much when a pc can't play it.
Is it ok to say i really hope it won't be touched for a while? i don't really have much money left from my previous pc purchase, and You know how it goes. The moment You have to put everything on lowest, You start to long for more again.

That's mumbo jumbo seeing as Oblivion, Half-Life 2, HALO 3, Call of Duty 4, Mario Galaxy, and several other games are better than it.KingFrizzy
And this is an opinion. Also in terms of graphics I don't think any game will touch it soon. In terms of being a game overall well there are already some promising titles on the horizon.

Graphically? Not even remotely close. The only games that come anywhere close are Far Cry 2, Project Offset and Mafia 2. The PC versions. Anyone who thinks otherwise simply hasn't played Crysis on very high.
[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]Agree or Disagree that is the question.
The answer (see above)? Resistance 2!
dgsag
You think that's ingame?
I actuallyl laughed.
Anyways, this argument is as old as the dinosaurs, "Crysis has better graphics than Blah blah blah" Crysis has freaking better graphics than anything, whats the point anymore? Cant a game have great graphics without being compared to Crysis anymore?
[QUOTE="GUNpoint_"]have fun playing your badly optimized shooter. i'll be too busy playing MGS4 to care :oMayhem48
Badly optimized? what are you talking about?
It's amazing how many times that gets tossed around about Crysis. Too technologically ahead of its time, I guess.
I'd simply ask one of these people to go to crymod.com and download one of the bigger maps. The ones created by people who didn't necessarily take into account things like draw distance, level of detail, polygon count, etc, so their maps are unoptimized and much laggier than vanilla Crysis maps. Then they'd see just how optimized Crysis really is.
I'd ask these people that, but I know they don't have the game.

[QUOTE="goodlay"]What a poor statement. Do you really think that no game ever made will ever be better looking than Crysis? :?Mr_aLdi

far cry 2 :|
Crysis graphics are the thing that is least impressive but it sure makes it improve by a good 10 percent. I find it more impressive that you have hundreds of viewable, destructable objects that are affected by wind, bullets and explosions without slowing down too much. No console would run the game without being dumbed down to at least low settings at 720p, with no physics, poor graphics, smaller closed in areas and less foliage.
Using multiple methods, paths, and weapons along with suit modes makes for one of the most dynamic games I have ever played. Crysis is so much more than a tech-demo.
what i find funny about all this is that crysis is kind of pointless really cause nobody can play it all the way up unless u have a triple sli so whats the point making a game ahead of hardware. i have a gaming pc and crysis gave me 7 hours or so of gaming fun then i didnt touch it. so overrated. graphics isnt wat matters anyway
I find it funny when people say you need an amazing graphics card with sli. You don't even need to upgrade to play it on low.
Holy crap! When are people going to get over their platforms mediocre FPS's! 360 and PC fanboys are the same, with PC all they have is "Oh but Crysis looks awesome!" and 360 fans have, "Oh buy Halo has bestest multiplayer!". Yes Crysis looks good, and yes Halo has fun multiplayer, but get over them, if no other game of that quality came out on either of your platforms for another 3 years you'd still be using Crysis and Halo 3 in your arguments then! PS3 and Wii owners are over theirs, Resistance was good, not amazing not bad, it was a fun game, but you don't see PS3 fans continually making threads boasting about it's large amounts of online players or whatever, or Wii owners posting how MP3 has the best console FPS controls.
So when are you finally going to stop doing this...it's really annoying and it's clogging up system wars, seems like every other thread is some sort of graphics debate which just ends up with Crysis fans posting pictures and going "OMG ownt /thread!"
I think I know who this is. This is the same man who still makes the argument about how Doom 3/Quake 4 is superior to almost anything else graphically, and how terribly inferior Nvidia is to Ati.
jetpower3
Haha I think it is too he has so many accounts though its hard to track him. The fact is Crytek said Crysis could run on consoles at almsot high settings so he really has no case /end thread.

Not Crysis. The Cryengine 2.

Not Crysis. The Cryengine 2. And almost high isn't even close to what Crysis is fully capable of.
Both Half-Life 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R are thousand times more satisfying, in my personal opinion. (god I hate it when I have to label everything I say with ''imo'')
