Counterstrike is better than WoW for the following reasons:
It doesn't cost money every month to play
It's gameplay is anti-addictive, so it's easy to put it down -- the gameplay encourages you to put it down!

So does WoW in a way, the longer you stay offline the more rest your character gets. As long as you're rested you get twice as much experience from killing stuff as you normally would.

An interesting argument, and one that I witness every day. Within my group of friends, there's a great seperation between the WoW players, and the CSS/1.6ers. The Warcraft players argue that Counter-Strike is repetitive while the Counter-Strike players argue that the fantasy setting is ghey -- I take no side on this argument, as it's one of preference. On System Wars however, I'll take Warcraft's side (as people here can typically put up a more intellectual argument then throwing around misused words as insults).
World of Warcraft has jumped the MMORPG genre into the mainstream, and currently owns the lives of 8.5 million subscribers world wide. It has set the standard. While Counter-Strike is tactical and balanced, this simply doesn't compare to World of Warcraft's sty|e, casual-appeal (for the genre), depth, content, narrative, character strategy and tactical strategy, in my opinion. Obviously this comparison isn't fair (due to the nature of both games), but I believe we can saftly say that World of Warcraft has done so much more for it's genre then Counter-Strike has for the FPS genre.project343
i've never played WoW and only play CS 1.6/CS:S however I completely agree with you. However if we were to talk about CS overall vs wow it would become closer. CS 1.6 is 8 years old and still "heavyweight champion" of FPS competitve gaming. I don't think WOW will have as long of a run as "king" in the genre. But that is comparing CS 1.6 to wow. CS:S the community is divided.
