Obviously current gen is going to be supported for years to come.

My question is do you think, say games like battlefield 5 will still be on current gen ? and also will it limit developers because they have to take consideration for old hardware instead of focusing on new ? Also I'm talking about all games not just Battlefield or shooters.  I can sports games being supported for a long time, But I'm wondering about games that are inovating.

I think the Xbox ONE will be a commercial failure and Microsoft will release the Xbox TWO in 2015.

Xbox360 has been in a coma for 2 years, its on life support from 3rd parties.

PS3 is still very much alive, with many 1st party games still coming out.

As soon as the PS4 arrives, expect the number of 1st party games do become smaller, but there should be releases in the first 2 years.

Some of the best PS2 games were released after the release of the PS3, like God of War 2.

3rd parties will keep supporting old systems for as long as they can because they have huge install bases compared with the new consoles.

Edit: PS2 is still being supported! Just found out now that FIFA 14 is being released for the PS2 this September, it will be the last game to be released for the PS2.

Sounds like a huge waste of time and money porting it to the ps2.
