7.5

Not the biggest fan of IGN, but that seemed like a fair review. I am guessing the average for this game will probably be in between 7.0 and 8.0 when all is said and done, and that is a good game in my book. Regardless, it is the subject matter that sold me on this game and I am looking forward to it.
What's funny about a 7.5?SaltyMeatballs
because it's a straight-up clone. like no shame at all.
i mean, when you watch GoW featurettes the devs say they get inspiration from Devil May Cry, but in the end they made a totally different game. Dante's Inferno though, idk. tsktsk. seeing as they made Dead Space you'd think there'd be so much wow factors in this one. lawl.
Looks like a solid game. But honestly, step aside Dante, let the real hack and slash king show you how it's done. NAPK1NSBayonetta?
I suppose if you played the GOW series this game would qualify on the 7-8 rating. However, if you are one of the people that never played the GOW series, I would bet you would find this game to be a 8.5-9 easily. Reviewers can't give this a game a 9, they would then be forced to give GOWIII a 9.5-10 since we all know it is going to be a better overall game.

Lol, it's a shame because GOW is a great production. It's got everything going for it. Said for the button mashy combat
LOL.... the reviewer is an obvious GoW fanboy.
Did anyone read the review or just glance at the score?
The reviewer knocks the game for having unoriginal combat.... sorry but there was absolutely nothing special about GoW's combat, it was shallow as all hell.
I'm sick of this GoW Worship that everyone has going on. GoW is fun, entertaining... but its combat is weak, just watch though... it'll score a 9.0 in gameplay even though the gameplay will be the same as GoW I & II and Dantes Inferno.
I wish people had the ability to remove the fanboy goggles, and be honest...
Ya the combat was original because it IS god of wars combatLOL.... the reviewer is an obvious GoW fanboy.

The definition of hack & slash is NOT... a game that rewards button mashing.

So GoW's combat is amazing and original in what ways exactly? Prior to this gen did you only own a PS2?
1st question is rhetorical... I've played through GoW I & II, fun games for the most part.... but certainly nothing revolutionary when combat is concerned.

Thank you for helping me prove my point. Did you even read the content of the link you posted...? LOL
No where in that link does it say "Hack & Slash" has anything to do with button mashing.
And nowhere in that link does it say "Hack & Slash" has anything to do with not rewarding you for button mashing. Your move.tagyhag
In the definition of "clouds" does it say anything about them NOT being rocks? I guess we can conclude that since they didn't rule it out, that clouds do have rocks in them... huh?

*check mate* you have no more moves.
In other words... you can't assume that because the definition doesn't make any reference to something that it somehow, magically, includes that which it doesn't mention.
I actually wanted this one to do well, but after taking a trip to Gamerankings I smell a flop coming.

Please point out where I said that? and No I owned a Xbox as well at the tail end of the generation.I never said GOW was amazing. Just that DI was an exact ripoff because it is.

So what you are telling me, is that I must go by YOUR definition of Hack & Slash, I'm assuming that it's YOUR definition of course since you have shown NO evidence as to where you have gotten the definition. Your opinion ⊁my opinion.[QUOTE="moistsandwich"]

I agree 100% it absolutely is a ripoff.... so how is it that GoW is sooooo amazing, and DI is such crap? Perhaps you are not one of the people claiming GoW's superiority... I can't tell by your original reply to me, since the sentence doesn't indicate anything other than you believe GoW's combat to be original.
WHich is WRONG!

We already covered this... next time make sure that the link you provide actually supports your claims, rather than proving them wrong.
