Ok ive played both demos of Bayonetta and Dante's inferno and I must say that Dante's inferno is a much better game. Better acting, much better main character, seems to have better story telling, the grim reaper boss battle was awesome.. Frankly i almost laughed at bayonetta after i played the demo at the thought that this game is getting mega hyped as the next best action game of all time lol.

After playing demos for GOW3,Dantes Inferno and Bayonetta.. it goes like this. Dantes Inferno owns bayonetta but GOW3 still owns both of them.

I disagree. The combat in Bayonetta is much better, far more complex.

It's almost a blessing that Dante's Inferno is not receiving that type of hype. You don't have to see countless *said game* is the best or better than another game.

No. Dante's Inferno is a hack n' slash with a focus on story. This has been done many times before. Bayonetta, however, is a combo focused extreme style action game. Created by the master himself, Hideki Kamiya. This man created the best game ever, Devil May Cry. I played the demo of Bayonetta and was COMPLETELY blown away. For DI I might as well just play GoW over again. (All of this is my opinion, don't like it? Meh :P)

Dante's Inferno was really pretty poor. It tears apart the source material and feels like a God of War game that missed the point of what makes God of War so good. Also, the Death boss fight was awful. Repetitive attack patterns and a health bar that took way too long to cut down. It was a bore. Bayonetta has a great, over-the-top style and responsive combat. That's why people are excited for it.

Im sorry but if you where "blown away" by bayonetta than you must be very very easy to impress.. There is nothing great about bayonetta whatsoever, i think Devil may cry was much much better.. maybe if Bayonetta was a launch title

It goes like this: Gameplay: Ninja Gaiden series > Bayonetta (judging from demo and clips I've seen) > DMC > God of War >(or equal to) Dante's inferno. Everything else: God of war > the rest.

The only thing I liked about Dante's Infermo was spamming those cross attacks. The game looked flat and the combat wasn't very satifying. I'd probably rather go back and try Conan , lol.

How about playing it three times in a row and using completely different combos each time? That impresses me.

Meh, both seem to be equally compelling to me. Can't really saw I have a side between the two. I love Visceralas a studio though.

The fact that there is this much combo variety is pretty mind blowing. Dante is super boring compared to what that video shows off.

I'm sorry, but if you were "blow away" but Dante's Inferno, then you must have very very low standards. There is nothing great about Dante's Inferno whatsoever, and is a complete rip off of God of War. Maybe if Dante's Inferno was a launch title.

I like that people are claming "no substance" in bayonetta when nobody's actually SEEN the story for the game. All they've seen is a short gameplay demo, yet are 100% certain that there's nothing under the surface of this game.

It makes the game far more fun than just mashing between a couple of buttons on the controller mindlessly. It gives the gameplay depth. The substance is there, it's in combat system, showed off in that video, clear as day.

Clothes don't fly off, and why isn't it fanservice by the same degree as the stuff on your blogs? That makes no sense and completely sounds hypocritical. The main game may have her use special attacks leaving her nude, but it's not like you ever see the nudity. You don't see upskirt shots, or "innocent" poses of her, heck she's far from it. Tell me where you see her ass (you can catch a "glimpse but you hardly see it for a second) and you don't see her breasts or other extreme measures. ) Lastly, if you catch the "flying clothes" during mid fight, you'd see that she actually has a V like "suit" on where her hair basically covers her breasts and other assets.

I found the combat in Bayonetta to better than both God of War and Dante's Inferno. Bayonetta felt like a smoother DMC to me, which I've always thought had better combat than GoW. I'd say Bayonetta > God of war III > Dante's Inferno. All 3 games are going to be fun as hell to play, but Bayonetta wins for me.

Better acting, better main character, better story telling, boss battle? Dude what are you talking about both these games aren't even out. Furthermore that boss battle felt like a regular enemy compared to Bayonetta. The a.i, and diversity in enemy attacks puts as evident in the demo is past DI. This is because DI is a low quality rip of GOW. The graphics in the Bayonetta demo were better, the combo list was vastly greatly with only one weapon. After playing the GOW3 demo and Bayonetta its pretty clear to see which game offers more in combos, variety of combos, a.i and that is Bayonetta. Nothing in this genre is going to match GOW3's presentation, cinematics, story, graphics, sound. But when it comes to gameplay its a far different story.

Fan service should be a limited thing and if done right you don't even notice it because it fits in with the story/whats going on. I have no reason why the hell her clothes fly off or why they have to.

her clothes come off because her clothes are actually made out of her hair, and when she uses her hair in her attacks the clothes have to come off. Seriously though why are you complaining? You don't see any nudity in the game, and it's obvious from your blog posts you dont have a problem with cartoon sexuality.

I guess I missed an episode of this soap because TC doesn't seem to be a Lemming anymore. Anyway... I've yet to play GOW3 demo but judging by the demos of the other two I will say this: Bayonetta >> Dante's Inferno. I was actually bored at parts of the DI demo whereas I found Bayonetta to give much better gameplay. Let's be honest here: There is way more blatant boobs and such in Dante's Inferno than Bayonetta so im not being swayed by Bayonetta's "Charm".

I played the demo to DI, and frankly I don't see why anyone with a PS3 would buy this game, just wait a few more months for GoW3, it is exactly like GoW but not as good.

I don't but in a game like Bayonetta I just don't see any point of it, that mixed with her bad character design make me take the game less seriously.

No it doesn't, it looks like a cheap game with GOW-like combat, so excuse me if I'm not phased with more slow dial-a-combos wrapped in a cheaper package.

Also yay for judging a character and calling it crap based on what we don't like and know nothing about it : |

i honestly wasn't very impressed with the DI demo. It started off kind of dull, and the pacing was a bit bizarre for me. Although i enjoyed the Bayonetta demo alot, i had one major gripe. Where is the Bayonetta must die mode?! Seriously there wasn't even a hard mode >.> Enemies kept dying too fast before i could make some awesome combos.

I thought Dante's Inferno was average at best. Bayonetta is amazing.

Am I the only one that dislikes demos in general? I prefer to play the finish product, and doing so without going in without expectations (good or bad). Mildly surprised that anyone has time to try out demos with such a packed year tbh...haven't even opened the plastic of 3 of my games yet. :P

Dante Inferno, whether or not if it turns out to be great, is still a GOW knockoff. Bayonetta is the spiritual successor of DMC, going all the way back to the roots of the original and what made DMC awesome.

It goes like this: Gameplay: Ninja Gaiden series > Bayonetta (judging from demo and clips I've seen) > DMC > God of War >(or equal to) Dante's inferno. Everything else: God of war > the rest. verbalfilth

you must be mad, Bayonetta destroyed ninja gaiden's gameplay. A lot more over the top and faster paced, which Ninja Gaiden is all about.

I agree but anyways, in the end of the day i don't really care. All i know is that DI has a much more greater story and hopefully it'll have great combat [Judging from the holy/unholy list] and on top of that a much better atmosphere + level design. Most importantly, im interested in it much more than Bayonetta.
