Here.
Just wow
Some very cool footage, more details about the moral choices, and how the devs are approaching the concept of the novel.
The game's looking sweeter in every diary. ^_^

Well, for a God Of War ripoff, at least the devs are trying to flesh it out.
Let's hope for the best! :)

Dead Space was amazing "for a RE4 ripoff", even being a better game that this gen's RE.
With Visceral, of course, "hope for the best".

Dead Space was a RE4 rip, but it did a very distinct and different Visual Sty.le, Dante's lacks that even moreso, but I do know that Deadspace was a great game, so more power to them. I know all about this team, but I've been very unimpressed with the way they went about Dante's.
Still, it comes down to Gameplay, and I'm sure they will do fine. I do trust the developer, though I'm only familiar with their previous outing. I can't wait Dante's Inferno sequels, should work out well.

The visual Sty.le Differences of Deadspace Vs. RE4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the Visual Sty.le Differences between Dante's Inferno Vs. God Of War, add the gameplay similarities, and you have the comparisons that everyone and there mother has been talking about since E3 2009.
Obviously, anyone can argue that they are different games, and they look way, way different from each other visually, but who would they be fooling?
The Source Material of course is going to be different, but the Goth like settings, and the gameplay sty.le even drew users in YOUR LINK to mention a certain game starring Kratos quite a few times (Yes, I went through and looked at the 177 posts on that Youtube link).
Ah well, I won't argue to much on a game I can't play yet, and it's can be impossible to argue if anyone wants to play Devil's Advocate here. :)
This game looks terrible. Having read the original poem, I'm disgusted that the theme and central idea of the original work of art is being thrown away in favor of creating an action game. Giving Dante a scythe and making him kill demons is like spitting on Alighieri's corpse, rather than praise the man for the Divine Comedy. princeofshapeir
This is certainly a valid point, but I didn't even want to go here in SW.
It's a whole different argument. :P

The thematic of Hell as describe by Dante + great action gameplay from GoW.

Demo announced for December :D
Coming this December, the 'Gates of Hell' demo includes the entire opening level and gives gamers a taste of Visceral Games' blockbuster adaptation of Dante Alighieri's epic poem, The Divine Comedy.
The 'Gates of Hell' demo will introduce players to the game's hero, epic story and intense action gameplay, tracing Dante's battles from the surface all the way to the Gates of Hell. Players will experience fast-paced hack-n-slash combat as they fend off waves of enemies before taking on the ultimate battle against Death. After defeating this boss, Dante will be armed with Death's scythe, a powerful holy cross, and will be ready to tear open the Gates of Hell. The demo also features two stunning cinematic movies made by Blur, the award-winning visual effects, animation and design studio.

[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]As SolidTy said, this is looking like an excellent game for a complete rip on God of War. Also, those "moral choices" blow.ironcreed
I love God of War's gameplay, looking forward to both.:)
Same. That's why I'm getting both, too :PYeah I made a thread about this , a litte more colorful title, but yeah I had no idea about the moral decisions , the artistic sytle also looks amazing, I think it looks better than GOW Luigi_The_PimpWhat you did is bring a lot of unnecessary hate towards this game :?

God of War is the old lion still trying to Rule the Kindom of name alone much like Resident Evil, And we all know Visceral has already made on " Insert franchise Killer" already. Its time for the new lion to rule.
This, god of war, castlevania, and darksiders makes next year HnS awesomeness :cry:Espada12Castlevania LoS looks awesome, but I'm still a little skeptical about the devs (Mercury Steam). As a Castlevania fan, I really hope it delivers.
it looks like a God Of War Version 2 point 0. lol as long as they can capture the feeling and maybe improve on the formula I'm all for a new interesting game to get into. verbalfilthYes, indeed :o

Its time for the new lion to rule. Luigi_The_PimpRE5 was made by a different team than RE4. GoWIII is made by the same team that made GoWII. There's no reason not to expect GoWIII to be as good as its prequels. And there's no reason for both franchises not to exist in harmony, either. And since I don't want to go deeper on this subject, that's everything I'm gonna say about your thread.
my understanding is that some GOW developers are working on DILuigi_The_PimpOnly one. The Lead Level Designer.
As SolidTy said, this is looking like an excellent game for a complete rip on God of War. Also, those "moral choices" blow.aaronmullanHow do the moral choices blow?
Really? That's a pretty good one to have on board.mattbbplYeah. Mike Cheng's his name, if I'm not wrong. He was also the Lead Level Designer of Metroid Prime. Some serious talent behind this game, I think.
Dante's Inferno is a piece of literature that i have learned to like, and respect. I hate how horribly they are this game is taking the poem out of context. They could have made a game based on the hell in The Inferno without ruining the story, and the protagonist.

they're butchering the greatest work in literature
The story is not "ruined", at all. Is there in your bookshelf. This is a videogame loosely based on it. Or better said, on the despiction of Hell described in it. We should all lighten up about this type of thing. I've never understood why we, as gamers, will stand up for a game that involves gratuitous sex, killing innocent civilians, the use and distribution of drugs, playing as a terrorist, or excessive gore, but the moment it spins, changes, or parodies another form of entertainment we hold dear it's a travesty and abomination.Dante's Inferno is a piece of literature that i have learned to like, and respect.
