will xbox users be able to enjoy the game fully without having demons souls (exclusive to PS3)? i feel their experience will be less of an enjoyment simply due to the fact that they will miss out on any demons souls references etc etc . This was not a problem with mass effect 2 on PS3 because mass effect 1 was playable on PC.

If cows can have PC's, who's to say that lemmings can't have PS3's?

It's not an actual sequel, it's a spiritual successor, basically the gameplay will be similar but story elements etc won't carry over as far as I'm aware, and definitely nothing to Mass Effect levels. If I remember correctly it's because Sony own the Demons Souls IP, or part own it, so they can't make another Demons Souls and have it be multiplatform.

imo the exclusivity of demons souls is what made it so great, on a single blu-ray. Now with the technical limitations of the 360, dark souls is just another multiplatform game toned down to meet the requirements of the outdated 360 (eg. final fantasy XIII etc etc)

Wow... why not post on ur real account? Oh right... because you know this stuff will get you banned eventually.

THREAD IS FLAMEBAIT! nothing more.

But to those who enter who do no know.... Dark Souls is NOT the sequel to Demons Souls, its merely a similar styled game built by the same devs. This is because Sony was a partner with Demons Souls, and they wanted to make their next game multiplat.

As long as Dark Soul are enjoyable, then of course they will enjoy the game

I'm more worried about how those without LIVE will experience the game. The online experience is part of what makes this series so unique.

I'm a little worried that the game is impossible to beat alone . I liked playing with a Soul Mate, but it wasn't needed to advance the game. I've read that some bosses actually require a second player to stand a chance .

I sure hope not. I like to defeat these behemoths on my own.

I wish trolls would come up with more interesting topics, instead of rehashing years old arguments. Any one who takes this bait is either trollplying or worryingly gullible.

anytime I see a level 1 fanboy I just assume they're ban dodging.

But I have each system, Demon's souls is one of my favorite games and the only impressive PS3 exclusive thus far, but for a game that had little to no direct story and most people didn't even realize it was a retelling of Nordic mythology i doubt it will matter. I think 360 players will be fine.

it actually had a very deep story about a man searching for his soul, and in the midst of his search waking up to the world he once lived in a how he percieved it. The girl that had the knight protecting her....that was his love.

It's possible to pass the hint system off as free DLC or a patch that's updated/released every day. Simply bar the player from interacting with others (The key feature of Gold vs. Silver) via rating hints.

ummmm.... no it didn't. That's not the story at all. I had to make sure I wasn't in a shadow of colossus thread. King makes deal with "devil", kingdom is corrupted, heroes still exist as residual ghosts of themselves, kill everything save the town. but this is all told indirectly. Not directly.

I don't think it will sell as well on the 360 just because the audience tends to embrace the fps genre more. But those that do play it, I believe will have a good experience. But, to really get the most out of it, you're gonna have to have a gold account.

This is a valid point.
