Dark Souls on the PS3 Has No Mandatory Installation.

Random tidbit, but Deus Ex HR is 33% off both standard/augmented editions for 360 and PS3 today on Amazon. Should have waited, dangit....

I'm completely fine with it. Well perhaps not a 60 minute install, the longest time I've had to wait for a console install was GT5 and that 35 minutes.

It is 2006 again? Mandatory install doesn't effect anyone anymore

MGS4 was sort of a mess in terms of that.

I feel like the PS3 install problem is a litle overblown. Not every game forces you to install, and if you play any PC game ever you have to deal with an install and no one complains, because its for a beneficial reason.

it's a sad time for the playstation when sony fanboys need to throw a celebration just because one ps3 game doesn't force upon you a 4 hour mandatory install.

Uncharted series and God Of War 3 did not have any installs whatsoever.

Neat but no retail Xbox 360 game has mandatory installs. I guess not many people on this thread own both a PS3 and Xbox 360.KC_Hokie

360 games cant have mandatory install because many 360s dont even have HDs.

Overall I think mandatory installation is no big deal, I used to be PC gamer until about 2 years ago so the installation is part of the ritual of bringing home a new game. I almost feel robbed when I cant install my new game :D

It's always better to install anyways. Whenever it's optional I still install it.
