Daxter and Wipeout Pulse announced for PS2

That means that the PSP has lost an AAAE and and AAE. This is on top of the other PSP exclusives I can play on my PS2 like Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Lumines Plus, Tokobot, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and Silent Hill Origins.

This also means that God of War Chains of Olympus should be coming to the PS2 soon.. I am so glad I bought a DS

Took them long enough, Daxter came out on the PSP over two years ago.

Oh, and as a PSP owner, I don't really care. I can't bring my PS2 and TV around with me can I?? :) Not to mention I don't like waiting years for a PS2 port to come out.

I understand where you are coming from if you don't play you system on the go why should you buy a PSP. There are still many great games on the PSP also the idea of waiting two years for a game to be ported well sucks.

Myself I enjoy playing on portable system and would love to see more games ported over. Like the .Hack/ games, Xenosaga games and other JRPGs that I have yet to find the time to play.

PSP owners don't have to wait to go home and play. We can play them whereever we want. That's the point of a handheld.

the psp to ps2 ports are all major upgrase in which te ps2 arguably gets the better version look at GTA and syphon filter they both have better controls and slightly better graphics. So I still see no point to actually getting a psp when a majority of there games have better version's on last gen consoles

yeah but they've stopped making games for the PSP because it's dead as a games machine and they're porting existing titles to the PS2. Meanwhile the Wii is getting more and more games

Thats 4 many ganes out of the majority of ps2 ports and "remakes"

And I can list more of course. :)

The psp is a console wannabe with only a handful of worth while titles that usually control terribly (ace combat, burnout,Tekken, Medal oh honor)

Bashing the PSP at this point is just lame. Its got a graet library. Some great exclusives. Its priced just right. And it gives you console quality titles on the go.

If you didn't get the game on the PSP chances are you are not going to buy it on the PS2. The PSP is where these games are meant to be played.

What exactly does it matter? More people who don't own a PSP can enjoy the games... even though Daxter is pretty "meh." "Exclusives" are quite overrated.

I also did not like Daxter to much. I bought the game because it was cheap. Played it for awhile and when I saw the score it blew my mind away. No idea how they could have thought it should have got that score.

Pretty much. There are sacrifices in some of the controls, especially in the early titles, but the more recent once really did a good job of making the games playable on the handheld.

HANDHELD. PORTABLE. CAN BRING IT WITH YOU ANYWHERE.

Those are concepts that people here don't seem to comprehend.

It's a portable console. Because games are being ported to the PS2 with improved controls somehow don't diminish my enjoyment of the games on the PSP.

Sure, the PS2 version could have better graphics and controls. But you're tethered to your TV. I, on the other hand, can enjoy the game anywhere, anytime with no significant degradation of my enjoyment.

I don't understand this bickering. People who haven't got a PSP or only like to play games on their tv now get to play two awesome games. At the same time how does this take anything away from those who have loved playing these games on their PSPs? I'm annoyed by "but but this or that game should have stayed exclusive to this or that platform" ... what is your problem with more people getting to play a given game? does it take anything away from you? Oh yeah it does ... bragging rights :roll:

Also wipeout pulse is an awesome game which had a piss poor reception selling just a handful of copies. The game deserves another chance. And the PS2 hasn't had a decent wipeout released in its lifetime which is a shame. Let it be this one.

I'm referring to the PSP games that get ported to the PS2. Not PS2 ports to the PSP.

This in no way weakens the PSP's lineup. But it may discourage some people from picking one up in the future (not specifically these two games but the idea in general), and I imagine most people who would consider buying a PSP probably own a PS2.

But still. more people get to play good games. Yay! ..Right?

seriously psp outsold the DS more than double in japan just because of that monster hunter game. i don't know what's giving people the notion that the psp is doing badly.
