Dead Rising 2 sucks major ass. Don't waste your time or money of that trash. I have 15 PS3 games so far and Dead Rising 2 is the only one I regret buying.

Yeah, I got it on Steam... Wow, it was bad. No time to explore + glitchy as all hell. The boss battles were mostly terrible too.

And? You're trying to survive a horde of zombies by fighting, running and scavenging supplies/weapons. It's not really survival if you can quicksave every 30 seconds and reload if something goes wrong. Is every game with a savepoint system bad? Were early Resi games that made you save at typewriters with very limited ribbons bad?

Then you can't really play a survival game, unfortunately, that genre isn't suited to 10 minute play times. Don't blame the genre...

What the hell do you mean, just simply put a save game for people like me. Atleast in freaking alan wake there's check points.

I have both and I honestly can't recommend either... But since they are both cheap now and if you really want a zombie single player experience then I would go with Dead Island. Though personally I got Dead Island during a steam sale and only played 3-4 hours before getting bored... Similar to what happened to Dead Rising 2.
**** Dead Island, the game don't deserve the time of day.. Pathetic developers shipping out a broken game. City sucked, and I only got to the military part first pieces before it broke on me with its game breaking corrupting of save data.
Dead Island is worth playing, most the of glitches that early reviews hammered it on were fixed, minus of course the best glitches like infinite deo-bombs, though I feel this game is best played alone as for some reason co-op just doesn't feel right with this game. It can of course get repetitive feeling after a while, in which case something like Dead Rising might appeal to you more. Haven't played Off The Record yet but I loved the first two Dead Rising games, if you haven't played those yet I'd' suggest starting there. The original Dead Rising though isn't without its own issues, it takes a while before your character levels up to hold more weapons, health, perform special moves, there's a boss in a major crossroads area that keeps coming back (the escaped convicts) that's a pain, there's no checkpoints and its entirely up to you to save when you want, Otus calls are easy to be interrupted, terrible partner AI, there's no co-op... still, if you can work around that it's quite fun. If you want to avoid some of the first Dead Rising's frustrations then Dead Rising 2 is a better place to start, and it has co-op. I found the Dead Rising games had plenty of good exploration, more so than Dead Island, but Dead Island still pretty fun and has its moments.
