Dead Rising 2 Announced - Coming to a retailer near you, this year!

We were pretty sure that Dead Rising 2 videowas real on Friday, now we're positive with Capcom officially announcing the game coming to PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Capcom says that Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a "new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies" and a chance to kill them in fun ways in the gambling paradise of Fortune City.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the zombie invasion of Willamette, Colorado. Unfortunately, Capcom tells us, that zombie virus was not contained at the end of the first game and spread unchecked throughout the U.S. Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

As we had heard long ago, Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with Canadian developer Blue Castle Games as well as a number of members from the original Dead Rising team, including Keiji Inafune, who as the game's Producer will play an active role in the project.

The announcement promises that further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly.Kotaku

I got love for everything about the first Dead Rising, except that the escort part had some stupid AI. I didn't mind escorting, but when a guy just sits there and lets a zombie snack on him... wtf?

But for the longest time Dead Rising was the best 360 game out there. PS3 and 360 owners should pick this game up when it comes out, I know I will be.

Where is the wii version sheep? I thought the wii was going to get games now...

on topic- I loved the concept of the first but never completely got into it due to the bad save system. I hope this one has a lot better one. Not being able to save at anytime but

having more save spots.

I can't see myself enjoying the game as much as I did on DR1 without those 2 features.

Anyways I'm really excited for DR2. I don't mind having someone else besides Frank West being mc on DR2.

Wow, didnt realize people actually enjoyed the shoddy save system, horrible AI and time limit gimmick. I wont be buying this one if these issues are there, which I doubt they are, save system is fixed, and time limit removed in Wii version (Or so I heard) so heres to hoping this one wont be a waste of my money, like the first. /prepares to be torn apart by rabid DR fanboys.Im_single

Ill enjoy my amazingly original Hardcore game.

And you enjoy your horribly dumbed down abomination of a port that totally removes everything that was awesome about the original.

Without the save system being the way it was, the game would of been too easy and wouldn't been as fun. The time limit and the save system worked well together since players had to make decisions and it gave anything can happen feel to it. Oh well, we all have different taste in games.
