Watch it turn out to be a Pokemo Snap-esque game where you just take pictures of zombies...haha that would be funny.
But pretty cool, it's going to be tough for the wii to have that many zombies on screen and also have those great graphics on the 360.
Also, it's good to know Capcom hasn't forgotten about Dead Rising...I am looking forward to Dead Rising 2 (even though it wasn't confirmed...we KNOW it's gotta happen).
Wow I didn't see that coming. It's one of my favorite current gen games.
I am a big fan of zombie movies and games. This was the type of game I always wanted from the video game industry for the longest time.
[QUOTE="RuprechtMonkey"]It'll suck compared to the 360 version.

How do you figure?
Because the 360 version looked very sharp and revolved around massive numbers of enemies on screen in large areas, the Wii wouldn't be able to manage it without severly cutting back the game so the Wii's hardware can pump it out.
THis is only assuming it's "port" of the 360 version though, even if it isn't I don't hold out much hope.
The RE lightgun game doesn't much compare to the real deal, does it? I imagine Dead Rising would get a similar treatment.
So without multi core processers how do you process several thousand zombies at once? Will it run at an even lower resolution than 480p? Without the RAM how do you get several hundreds of varity's of weapons?
People say power doesn't innovate on games.

RAM has nothing to do with how many weapons you could have. Though on the topic, since the Wii can't run this game at the same graphical level anyways, it might have enough memory to store the same number of enemies at once.

Well, in KH2 for the PS2 there was a 1,000 heartless battle scene. So Im sure the Wii can have a bunch of on screen enemies. It's just that like the 1,000 heartless battle scene, the zombiess will probably look all exactly the same and all do next to nothing. And the enviroment will be barren of the hundreds of objects you can use as weapons...
No matter how you look at it, this will be a nerfed game if they want it to be ANYTHING like the original.

I don't think Dead Rising had "several thousand zombies" at once. Maybe a few hundred. And with such simple AI as what Dead Rising's zombies have, processing that many shouldn't be a problem for any CPU, even a single-core. The GPU is what I'm more worried about, but there are "shortcuts" that would allow the Wii to show that many models on screen.
Uh... why?
I could understand a PS3 version, but a Wii version?
Also, I would have preferred this to the rubbish Lost Planet for PS3.

Capcom doesn't care about programming for Properly For Ps3, its always easier to make games first for 360 and port them cheap and carelessly to Ps3 after, as you can see anyone can have at least timed exclusive from them except... The Ps3.

Well, i don't know, i haven't seen the math yet. You need to consider that first, the wii doesn't have the burden of having to fill a HD screen. Second, the wii is significally more powerfull tha a ps2, perhaps not on the gpu effects department, but it is on grunt power. Third, Capcom have shown knowledge of the architecture with Re4.
So, using the Re4 engine, perhaps downgreading the poly count of the zombies, i think they can make a decent port of the dead rising experience for the wii.

Why not? The high sales of RE4: Wii edition show that there is a market for horror games on the system.

No dude, it will have awesome controls.
The controls where pretty godawful ont eh 360 one, especially the shooting. So yeah it might beat it in that but it'll still be nerfed.

Yeah, but RE4 Wii was better than the other versions.
I mean, I don't mean to diss the Wii, but this version obviously won't be the best one. People aren't stupid, they'll notice the difference and it will affect sales.

I'm a Wii60 owner but I'll be buying the Wii version because I think it will be better. Why do you think it will be worse?

It's a pretty intense game, I just don't think Wii is gonna be able to maintain the same intensity as the game had on 360. It's not just about the graphics.

Did you not play Dead Rising or something, the Zombies barely do anything except for the 20 or so around you, the ones in the distance just shamble about a bit, and usually there are about 100-200 on screen at a time, the Wii will easily be able to do that. Plus the graphics don't matter, most normal games are being given to Wii with crappy graphics so I wouldn't mind a great game with an excuse for average graphics.
If it uses the enhanced Wii-mote, this could be pretty fun.TylendalExactly what I was thinking. Real time chair swing or whatever item would e insane. And of course the wiimote to aim the camera.
Through I hope it's not just a port.

Part of what made Dead Rising so entertaining is the fact that you could use so many things as weapons. Personally, I think the Wii-mote's motion sensing could make that all the more entertaining.

For people that don't own a 360 or have not played this game, that point is basically irrelevant. It's just a game made for a system that they actually have.

That's very true, don't forget that Capcom made Zack and Wiki, they know how to make the Wii remote work with different objects.

It looks to be using the gameplay shooting mechanic from RE4 wii which is no bad thing, plus the scale seems intact and the graphics are pleasing enough. Ironically it seems to be third parties who are the saving face for nintendo atm
