Wow! AA here. Great score.
Thoughts?

It always looked like a good game, after people got over the fact that it wasn't Dead Space, or Dead Space 2.
[QUOTE="NinjaDuckling"]Wow, apparently Wii has no AAAe's for the year on GS, but it has been raking in the AAe's. Cool. However, how the hell do you mess up the camera in an on rails game? :lol:DaViD_99Suppose to move to much or something. Probably tell you in the review. Yeah, I'm gonna read it soon.
I'll be getting this when it's cheaper then. I'm going to be doing that with a lot of Wii games released this year. They all look great but my budget doesnt.
Visceral delivers yet again. People doubted Dead Space. People doubted Extraction. And now people doubt Dante's Inferno. Visceral is about delivering in the end, not getting the hype praise.

GS consists of PS3 and 360 fanboys.
They didn't give Super Mario Galaxy or Super Smash Bros Brawl a 10 when they clearly deserved it.
PS3 and 360 get higher scores because GS loves the consoles. *coughODSTcough*
I would so pick this up when it's cheap.
Rail shooter with co-op so my cousin can play with me? Hell yes!
Expected. It is a rail shooter after all.

I think people really tend to forget on System Wars that an 8.0 rated game is classified by GS as "great". Mostly I just see comments like this one, where if I didn't see the score I'd think it got a 6 or 5 or something.
hmm rail shooter, not hard at all, and not even remotely scary anymore. If i ever owned a Wii id be pretty dissapointed cause you are definitely not gettingthe true Dead Space experience. Im sure its a great game, but if you want to play the real thing get a PC,360,PS3.

From all accounts (of people who have actually played the game :) ) it's 100% Dead Space, just in rail shooter format.

Agreed. Anywhere else it would be baffling, but here it's the norm.hmm rail shooter, not hard at all, and not even remotely scary anymore. When you accidentally cut yourself, do you bleed, or does liquid elitism come out of your wound?

nahh i bleed, but you should learn to read cause i said its a great game just not the same as the original dead space. Clearly its not the same type of game.
As for the other poster who said it was scary i read the IGN review aswell, and they said the fear was completely gone from the game.

I didn't say it was scary. I said it was 100% Dead Space. IGN's review happened to say that as well, now that I look back at it.
And not even everyone who really liked Dead Space thought it was that scary, so that's apparently not an essential part of the Dead Space experience.

I agree, the game doesn't need to be scary to be 100% Dead Space. The original was more about the atmosphere than actually being scary imo. (Though at times they do go hand in hand).

Atmosphere CAN be imparted in a rail shooter. Rez and Panzer Dragoon Orta are rail shooters. As for it being scary, I never found the first Dead Space remotely scary unfortunately. Space stations should be colder and more sterile, more ghostlike if they're going to be scary. Dead Space's enemies and environments were too mutanty and Doom 3-esque to be scary in my opinion, and there was too much organic Prey-esque gooiness on some of the walls. I can't even describe how disappointed I was with the final boss, I don't want to give any spoilers, but here's a hint, you've fought it in almost every sci-fi game this generation and it rhymes with venacle nonster. That said, I enjoyed the weapons, the pace, the detail in the environments, and many of the gameplay mechanics. It was quality and should be played, but over-hyped in my opinion, a strictly mid-8s game.
Oh, and since the developers can control the pace of the game better, wouldn't it be easier to make an on-rails game scary than one where the player can completely blow the fear factor by backtracking at the wrong times, speeding through environments that are meant to be appreciated and otherwise missing cues and events.
