Dead space is the best new single player IP so far this gen do you agree?

Im just blown away by how good this game is, the atmosphere in the game is outstanding, the graphics are amazing, the gameplay is a blast to play and the use of the lighting effects are just unmatched.

Dead space >>>>>>>>> Bioshock, gears, uncharted and so on....

I like MGS4 more but that's just my opinion.aznfool07

I think Bioshock is better. I love Dead Space though.

I can probably name like 30 new IPs that came out these gen that were way better games than Gears of War, tbh.

Can't say for sure because I am only on chapter 5 .... but I love it so far. It is giving me a good feeling like Uncharted did.

IMO STALKER, Crysis, Penumbra and Witcher are better

I am however enjoying Dead Space more than Bioshock

I am also on chapter five, but right now I still would say that Bioshock, Gears, and Uncharted are better new IPs.

I hate this game I bought it played it for 20 minutes and threw it aside. I'm trying to sell it on craigslist.jdc6305

I agree, had the same feeling. I think I liked it a tad bit more than you, as I do thing it was a good game. But I think Dead Space destroys it.

Dead Rising to me.

I liked Dead Space but... It was complete ripoff of one of my favorite games. Resident Evil 4. Except it did a crappy job ripping it off. It had the exact same structure, but on a space station. Same view, but with weaker gun control. A similar upgrade system, but again, worse. Same quick action moments. It even thew in a very similar regenerating enemy partway through. I liked the game, but I've been a big fan of Ridley Scott's Alien and Carpenter's The Thing my entire life. They were virtually the blueprint for Dead Space. Oh, and Dreamcast called. They want their copy of Blue Stinger back. dr-venkman

Off topic: Blue stinger was such a different game. If anything it was more like the old REs in the control schemes, monsters, and style of gameplay, but i must admit i enjoyed playing it even tho it wasnt that good of a game. it also seemed extremely long as well.

On topic: Dead space is nothing like blue stinger, and while it borrows heavily from other games and movies its great then the sum of its parts. Plus the whole setting is really spectacular and sets it self apart from other survival horror games because of its setting.

Dead Space is pretty awesome so far, although Crysis is still top in my book.

So, somehow a completely new cast of characters, new storyline, kind of same setting, but not, and new gameplay mechanics(Crysis at least) make it somehow connected to the first one enough to say it's not a new IP?

Gee, you could say that Bayonetta isn't a new IP because it has the same type of fighting as Devil May Cry with that logic.
