I think I'm gonna prefer RE5 over Dead Space. I got a bit bored of Dead Space by chapter 6 because it was just so repetitive. Plus I love Resident Evil, so I might be a bit biased :P
I totally saw 8.5 coming for this game, the same score as for Far Cry 2 which is equally dissapointing game. I'm glad Dead Space eventually got ranked higher than RE5. I think Gamespot was too much conformistic and too forgiving in its score for RE5, though.
IF your talking as just a horror game then yes Deadspace >>>>>>>>>>> RE5. If your just talking about overall game then Deadspace > Re5 is more approiate.
Dead Space was awful, I bought it, beat it and now I can't even think about playing it again, I mean to be honest if you wanted to torture me you would make me play Dead Space again, the game was just, UGH.....Don't want to think about the awfulness. I know i'll be asked why it was awful so...The weapons sucked, , there was no variation in gameplay ever (get on train, get off train at next deck, clear deck, rinse and repeat.) There barely was a story, the only thing that kept you progressing was fixing stupid issues with the ship, the characters sucked and the enemies were boring to fight. Dead Space makes RE5 look like a masterpiece and makes RE4 look like the holy grail of gaming
You know, I said this several times a few months back as well. However, now that I have RE5, I am going to have to retract. Very premature assumption on my part. So,while I respect your opinion, I must respectfully disagree. With what I have played thus far, I definitely dig RE5 more.I do not expect my mind to change by the time I finish it either. I have that same 'I know I am going to play this one over and over' feeling that I got from RE4....a game which I loved the hell out of and played countless times. All I can ask for, really.
