Dear No More Heroes Fans:

I understand that your game won the Wii game of the year, beating Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I have written out a series of statements/declarations/QQs I would like to make to you on behalf of the Brawl fanbase. Please read.

1) We understand that you had to hold GameSpot's editorial board at gunpoint for them to score the game so highly and give it this award over Brawl, which scored higher by 0.5 points. Under regular circumstances it seems highly unlikely that a sane editorial board that was not being threatened/blackmailed/bribed would do such a ka-razy thing.

2) Super Smash Bros. Brawl has better voice acting than NMH. Kirby's squeals, DeDeDe's grunts, Fox/Falco/Wolf's racially stereotypical voices, and Ike's declaration that he fights for his friends are on a whole better than the Resident Evil 1 quality of voice acting from No More Heroes.

3) If I was Captain Falcon, I would Falcon Punch all of you and your smelly game.

4) If I had a Landmaster, I would run over you and make you roadkill.

5) Your game doesn't deserve this award. WE HAVE SPOKEN.

and I played your SSBB for 10 min and never touched it again, and that's from someone who spent almost 100 hours on the first one. SSBB is at the bottom of the list as far as Wii GOTY goes imo. It did absolutely nothing new and is more of the same. So I'm glad an actual new IP beat it.

You are the first person I have noticed on GS that gives a toss about the Wii GOTY :? I would have given it to Mario Kart but lets face it, its been a bad year (07 was awesome).SapSacPrime

Brawl was by no means smashed by NMH.

Brawl = 8.44m sales

NMH = 0.39m sales

Yeah, No More Heroes really trumped Brawl :roll:

No More Heroes is an overated piece of Junk...

Brawl was much better and deserved the award...

NMH: oozes with subtext.. no substance my behind

SBB: drips with fanservice, more worthy of keeping than NMH, but not as original or interesting

technically brawl is the superior game, very polished aside from online.. but NMH is so underappreciated because of its technical aspects.. some people don't look deeper into the title and just write it off as a poorly programmed mess, but the writing/design surpass any other wii game , it's taking the medium of gaming to an existential level

i hate to go this far but.. anyone claiming NMH is overrated just didn't get it.. and really, overrated? this is one of the few reputable review sites to give it AAA, it has a 7.8 on IGN

I agree completely, but this issue is starting a sheep civil war. :o No More Heroes was a game we need more of, and Brawl is a game we don't need more of, because the sane among us will still be playing it until the apocalypse/next installment. Who's still playing NMH?

But personally, I prefer the air, so don't try me.

So a game can be a programmed mess but still good as long as it has a deep story? This is one of the worst reasoning I've heard. Make it an Anime, not a game, the thing WAS boring and WAS overated.

I just hope the sequel is more playable.

Seriously though, fakeboys are not funny, never were, never will be. If this is actually how you think, then I seriosuly sugest you read what you are about to say, like what they have one Youtube where it plays back messages, that might be quite handy for a forum like this. Mabye it's just me but there seems to be a bit of an "invasion" at the minute. Whatever it is, it reeks of fail.
