Another successful new IP from Sony Interactive Entertainment is getting a sequel. You love to see it. Although I'm sure some certain fanboys around here will hate to see it.

Ngl, would not have expected a sequel even though I'd like another game of that type. I do remember Kojima saying they'd probably do more with the universe/IP though, but not necessarily the same genre. Which hell, could possibly be what Normans talking about here, doubt dude keeps up with games lol.

Anyways, I'd want Kojima to double down on what made DS gameplay so unique, but I get the feeling he won't. A lot of the "directors cut" additions seem like ways to skip past the main gameplay and just do other shit lol.

Have at it. I wasn't convinced one bit those that praised it actually enjoyed it. And now they're getting served seconds.

Would rather see Kojima create a horror survival shooter a la Residen Evil. With his creativity, it could be a great game. I skipped Death Stranding because delivering packages is not the kind of gameplay i'd like to see, but i am pretty much running out of shit to play, i might just grab it on the ps5 and see what's for myself.

@SolidGame_basic: He's made like 4 or 5 threads hyping a Fable reboot based off a 10 second CGI trailer. You can't expect him to understand logic lol.

Hyping an actual announced game that is in full production, from a real studio.

VS a "hypothetical" game Sony fans tried to will into existence through collective fanfiction and wishful thinking.

Also, frauding/larping as "silent hill" fans, a franchise Im positive most of them have never played, and are only "capping" for because they want a "muh 'scloosive" to brag about.

The remainder of the year being Sony barren is triggering desperation. Fun stuff to read though.

Played it on PS4 but hardly did any side quest deliveries but after getting it on PC, I'm fully now playing it to its fullest and glad I'm exploring it more so on PC. Death Stranding isn't bad, it's sure is a slow burn game, and can't say I'm surprised Kojima is already thinking about a sequel as we speak. It was cool how Kojima tried to be different than just an ordinary 3rd-person game.

Loved Death Stranding not sure it needs a sequel though.

not seen much from the director's cut feature list to get excited about either. the stealth being more assassin's creed than metal gear was the elephant in the room i was hoping they'd address. adding some depth there doesn't feel like it'd be too difficult to implement considering its ingrained in kojima's dna or something that would negatively affect the existing game. i'll still give it a go in sept. game looked brilliant on my og potato ps4 so look forward to seeing it in all its ps5 glory

This franchise is for the intellectuals and not for me. But I don’t mind that the more brainy gamers get another box-carrying experience to write lengthy essays about. Just as long as I don’t have to touch it.

It was my GOTY , but I'm not sure where he would even take it after the way it ended. If we follow Sam's story , the game/gameplay could transform into something a bit different.

Well Sony does own the Death Stranding IP so, makes sense I guess in some little way.

But will they be buying Kojima Productions I wonder

@casey-wegner: To be honest... Sony has been so quiet for so long that all we have is rumor at this point. It's like another type of vaporware.

If they don't come out with some new announcements by next E3, I'm betting PS5 could very well be my exit console for staying up to date with gaming. I'm not hyped for anything that's been shown on any system. The best I have is a little excitement for Ninja Turtles Shredders Revenge and that was delayed to 2022 and isn't even confirmed for Playstation.

If this massive slump continues, it'll be time to back out for at least a generation of gaming. Just play what's already been released.

I actually started playing it on PC a few days ago after getting it for free (through SteamTrades)

I was convinced I wouldn't like it based on reviews and gameplay. I started playing and next thing I know it was 3hrs later! I love the story so far and haven't even got into any upgrades yet. I got as far as installing the first mail post or whatever it's called.

I thought the walking parts would be a drag but leave it to Kojima find a way to make that strategic and almost fun to an extent.

I loved that I had to think about the path I wanted to take. Either the "easier" path but risk BTs or the "safer" path over the mountain. It was pretty cool.

Just moved to NH so I'll have to wait to play any serious games for a while.

Cool that you're enjoying it that early on, those opening hours can be a drag the first time around. That's where most people throw in the towel.

No spoilers, but when you get the bike in the first area, treat it like gold. Makes that section much more fun.

But yeah, if you're liking it now, should be having a great time when you hit the second map. Every aspect of the game opens up from there.

Cool. I know it was polarizing, but definitely enjoyed the first one. I really liked helping folks with zip lines and highways in the first one.

the only Kojima games I've played are the first ~10 hours of MGS V and Death Stranding

found both immensely boring. doubt I'd try another DS

Wow, just makes you think about how far tech has come. Imagine being able to simulate walking... The physics engine must be insane.

So MS flight Simulator = boring.

But Sony walking Simulator = amazing.

First Sony simulated movies, now walking... Can you imagine if they combined the two and you can walk to the movies.

If I could try the first free, I would. But it looks like too much of a risk of my time and money - 50/50 I'll actually like it based on what I've seen. Would be nice if there was a demo

i do actually really quite like the game, but i'm probably guilty of this myself because trying to convincingly and succinctly explain why i like it is harder than it looks lol. conan's one of the few that does it well. but i always remember this amazing quote in one of the early sw review threads from an old poster subspecies

It's a good game. Very strange. Surreal. Definitely Unique. And definitely not for everyone. If you're interested in quantum theory, q-mechanics, the quantum anomaly phenomenon/a (you know who you are), the legitimacy of Christ consciousness, tetrahedral rearrangement, complex tetrahedron theory, Schrodinger's troubling little cat...and not killing people, among other things, then this game might be for you.
