Defining Game Experience This Gen?

What game do you think summarizes this gens storytelling, gameplay and visual achievements as a whole best? What game will this gen be remembered for?

I say Red Dead Redemption....

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Red Dead Redemption - I mean, the computerized AI were better at acting than real people!

Mass Effect series - the story of 2 is carazy. Everything is well connected

Uncharted 2 - The adrenaline moments keep coming!

First time I played the Wii in '07 - When it first came out, zelda TP was EPIC

Playing Gears of War - back then, those graphics were unheard of.

WoW - Truly apart of growing up.

Lost Odyssey - The last, traditional console JRPG that was superb. ToV, and Eternal Sonata were AMAZING as well.

Party Chat on Live - This function doesn't recieve enough credit. VERY convenient and has actually made me closer with some people

World in Conflict for me game is very underated one the best games I've played. Thscampaign was fantastic in its presentation,pacing, and story telling and the game was simply a blast to play both offline and online and the icing of the cake was some great graphics at the time hell they still look great today and its the best game when it comes to explosions and destruction you can absolutely level the entire map with all sorts of bombs and if one nuke isn't enough for you try 3!

ppl are not going to remember rdr as the pinnacle of this generation of gaming. or if they do,i guess that means this has been a pretty bad gen then if a gta in a cowboy setting is the "defining experience"

The Witcher 2. I'd pick The Witcher 1 but so far its kinda wonky with its combat. There aren't any other games I'd pick that excel in every area except the Ace Attorney games.

Mass Effect 1/2

I am not the type of gamer that likes to do multiple playthroughs of anything, but I could not put down Mass Effect.

Id say Mass Effect 1 has a slight edge for me.

The Witcher 2. I'd pick The Witcher 1 but so far its kinda wonky with its combat. There aren't any other games I'd pick that excel in every area except the Ace Attorney games.

I'm praying their recent slip about "The UI was designed with consoles in mind from the very start" doesn't signal that this game will be consolized. At least it'll have mod support, because I can see some new texture mods week one. Some of them from videos look a bit low-res/bad. A very small amount though.

I don't see how them saying the UI being designed with consoles in mind should worry people into thinking the game has been "consolized". It' still a game they developed for the PC from the ground up. I just think they like showing on interested they are in porting the game to consoles since he also mentioned that the game would support joypads..which is something that was known since GDC.

MGS4, uncharted2, heavy rain, hey those all ps3 exclusives.

Wii Sports - The first time I played it I was transfixed for hours on end, me and my roommates were literally up all nice playing against one another, most fun I've had playing with friends in many years.e

Uncharted 2. Seems to be the only game (IMO) I played where they got every category right.

Gonna have to echo those sentiments on Call of Duty for consoles. Shame.

I'll say Uncharted 2 for the cinematic delivery, and Mass Effect 2 for being mah favorite game last year.

For me it'd have to be Batman: AA. Great visuals, a well written and told narrative, interesting unlockables, and it played beautifully in all aspects. Easily the best game I've played this gen so far.

It summarizes the pinnacle of graphic evolution and the development of enhanced movement-controlled technology.

Am I really the first to say Crysis?

I don't like it but probably it will be a CoD. This is the FPS gen after all and CoD was probably the biggest thing.

Shooters. Crysis best shooter ever made point blank.

Story. MGS4 best game ever made.

Overall Red Dead best sandbox story all put into one.

These are the games that sum up this gen for me: -Bioshock 1/2 -Red Dead Redmtpion -Mass Effect 2 -Uncharted 1/2 An honourable mention to Heavy Rain. hrt_rulz01
