demon's souls without a doubt is one of the best action-rpgs since d2! regardless, I don't see it getting AAA and I don't see GS giving it a high review.
Ninja gaiden got AAA for all three versions (lol) and it was hard, so I am under the assumption demon's souls can too

You can change the difficulty and button mash and still be successful in ninga gaiden. You can't do either of those in DS.
I hope it's AAA. It probably will be on Metacritic and/or Gamerankings, but I doubt GS will give it a AAA rating.
The game is only difficult due to the steep learning curve and that it punishes you if you make a mistake (usually death). The difficulty of DS is greatly exaggerated. Once you memorize boss patterns and how to deal with the different kinds of enemies (usually by weapon choice or by taking advantage of terrain) then the game is quite easy, until you make an error of course.
No, it won't, and all the cows know it. Stop trying to jack up the hype.Cherokee_JackNah the cows don't know it, there are threads hyping it daily as the best rpg

You played it? And anyways, thats what difficult in games pretty much means. People make mistakes because they're people. But I have heard that the gameplay is actually quite standard stuff and is easy to pick up.

By that I'm sure they were referring to the action-rpg sub-genre which Demon's Souls easily is since Diablo 2.

I imported the game but that's not what diifcult necessarily means. In Ninja Gaiden the diffculty is due to cheapness, due to the fact you're ridiculously outnumbered. In Demon Souls, one monster even if it's fodder can give you a hard time.
For example: You are using a shield/spear combo and all the monsters you've fought were succeptible to pierce damage and were using polearms/daggers/spears/rapiers. The next monster you fight wields a mace and is not suscpetible to pierce damage (spears do pierce damage). Blunt weapons such as maces easily break the shield guard and do high amounts of damage, plus your weapon will be ineffective on the monster. If you did not know this information beforehand or do not have an alternate weapon you will likely die.
Also this game does not hold your hand in any way at all so you must figure out the game mechanics by yourself by paying attention to hints left by other players or by examining the situation carefully.
Because it's published by Atlus. And no one cares except for their cult following (I'm one of them). Plus, they've only really published Persona 3 and Persona 4 that have somewhat broken into mainstream ground. Even then, not so much. I mean... it IS a bit daunting. P3 and P4 can easily take 70 hours each.

Eurogamer doesn't though and they gave this and Killzone a Big Fat AAAE score.Magazines tend to overrate games.

[QUOTE="funsohng"]I'll be eating my shoes if GS gives this game AAA. No way GS is gonna give this AAAdjsifer01Want to bet? 9.0 here on gamespot, i will bet money on it. GS favors the PS3, plus this game is amazing and deserves at least a 9.0 if not higher. right, you are on :D
whats up with the lack of hype towards this game?....coming out Oct 8 Eurogamer ** 9 / 10, AceGamez ** 10 / 10, RPGFan ** 84 / 100, Play UK 91 / 100, Playstation Official Mag UK 8 / 10, PSW Magazine UK 9 / 10, and overall Critic score 8.9 PS3 will have yet another AAAe this year.....Sands-0f-TimeNo one ever hypes anything from From Software... shame really considering they have some great talent in that company.
Usually they release extremely underrated titles. Lost Kingdoms and Otogi spring to mind

Nobody saw it coming? Hardly.
Infamous is the type of game that GS gives 9s. Demon's Souls isn't. Maybe in the past it would have had a chance, but now it would be lucky to get an 8.
