demons souls is like having a job, and not a good one either. the only reason it does not get called out for the horrible experence it is because to do so means you lose your coveted status as teh hardcore.
seriously rent it first.
Well, Demon's Souls won Gamespot Game of the Year 2009, so I'd pick that. Its also amazing and pretty unique as far as games go today, Transformers is also getting good reviews but I imagine it plays like most other shooters and really worth it if you are a Transformers fan only.
I have a hard time believing that Transformers is better than Demon's Souls which is an incredible game.
Probably the best game this gen.

I'm not hardcore, and I never claimed to be but I love Demon's Souls.
Demon's Souls is one of the best games this genDiviniuz
to add to what he just said it is also one of the best games to grace any gen. it's one of the best games ever made IMO
I suppose serious RPG fans might like it, but I didn't. It just wasn't fun and I expect a better story for a RPG.demons souls is like having a job, and not a good one either. the only reason it does not get called out for the horrible experence it is because to do so means you lose your coveted status as teh hardcore.

Amurica isn't the only country in the world. There's also America and everything else....Demon's Souls is already out... It came out last year.

Ummm I WISH my job was playing Demon's Souls... it took a while to get everything going in Demon's Souls but once you've got the hang of it it's like crack and playing levels over again in New Game + has this strange quality that makes it feel fresh every time. I poured hours upon hours into that game and it was all fun. You must not be a very patient gamer, must've started gaming recently.demons souls is like having a job, and not a good one either. the only reason it does not get called out for the horrible experence it is because to do so means you lose your coveted status as teh hardcore.

Kinda weird how DS is nes to some people :) I imported it ages ago. Took a month for the game to arrive but it was worth it. And it only cost me the equivalent of 60 USD.
[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]I suppose serious RPG fans might like it, but I didn't. It just wasn't fun and I expect a better story for a RPG. its a silent story rpg theres tons of lore about it if you go to demon's souls wiki. However, they don't do much in the game about it. Similar to ico and shadow of the colossus which uses the environment to tell the story rather than the characters. on topic, i'd go with demon's souls.demons souls is like having a job, and not a good one either. the only reason it does not get called out for the horrible experence it is because to do so means you lose your coveted status as teh hardcore.

Thanks guys, my gut feeling was DS seeing as the pretty colours in Transformers would probably wear off after a week...but yeah i bought DS yesterday and it's incredible =O
Possibly one of the best games i've ever played. Never had so much fun dying xD ...but on a serious note, if you don't run into every room like Kratos, it's not that hard? lol.
besides transformers just scored 6.5 ! I haven't played DS yet but I got it about a month ago and fixing to start it after I beat AC2.Thanks guys, my gut feeling was DS seeing as the pretty colours in Transformers would probably wear off after a week...but yeah i bought DS yesterday and it's incredible =O

LOL yea "don't run into every room like kratos" and you will be fine. If you play connected to the servers then heed warnings. Most of the time players do give good advice. Just play slow and remember to run away if you're in real trouble. :PThanks guys, my gut feeling was DS seeing as the pretty colours in Transformers would probably wear off after a week...but yeah i bought DS yesterday and it's incredible =O

Uh what? :? Anyway TC, get Demon's Souls first, it's pretty awesome. You can get Transformers a couple of months later, most likely it'll be cheaper by then as well.plz support sony and buy demon's soul
mushi799
It's GOTY 2009 on gamespot, the game is not relentlessly difficult (until you get to 5-2), perfect combat mechanics, and you always get the feeling of "damn I shouldn't have done that" when you die. Not suitable for renting because you might give up, buy so you feel compelled to keep going no matter how many times you die :Pdemons souls is like having a job, and not a good one either. the only reason it does not get called out for the horrible experence it is because to do so means you lose your coveted status as teh hardcore.

Are you done trolling games you havent played to make you feel better? Don't get Demons Souls, everyone says it's great because they want to brag about how they beat it but what they're really thinking is how incredibly repetitive the game is.gamebreakerz__I didn't feel it to be repetitive at all, and I don't think many others do either :| .
Depends on what type of game you want. If you like RPGs...get Demon's Souls. If you want a more action/shooter type of game...get Transformers. Demon's Souls got great reviews, but I hear its very hard depending on who you talk to.Hey guys, seeing as these two games come out tomorrow...was wondering if anyone had any recommendations and such? Yeah, your last note is true.
In Demon's Souls, it's easy to avoid dying by holding up your shield when walking into new rooms and moving through corridors.

Same Demons souls is one of the first game and the first game ive played in my PS3I've been thinking of getting Demon Souls myself, but I hear it is pretty hard, almost to the point where it gets nerve racking. I would say Demon Souls just by the amount of people that have said how good it is, that and the reviews are a lot better than Transformers. The graphics in that game look phenomenal!!
Don't get Demons Souls, everyone says it's great because they want to brag about how they beat it but what they're really thinking is how incredibly repetitive the game is.gamebreakerz__Uh ya that's why I was saying it was my favorite game ever when I only had half of the levels done and was getting absolutely worked in the next level up right? Even when I sucked I loved it. Every game is repetitive, in Mario you jump form platform to platform a lot, in Half-Life you shoot things a lot, in whatever random JRPG is in your avatar, you choose attacks then click on an enemy a lot. It's all about how fun the core concept is and Demon's Souls has a very fun core concept and it's incredibly addicting. I would go full 10 hour runs just to beat a few levels and even when I was getting my ass kicked I'd keep going back for more. Ya I beat it but I don't wanna brag about it... only once when I was arguing with someone and they were saying I sucked at video games (note: idgaf if I suck in the first place...) because I was saying Modern Warfare 2 is unbalanced.... then they said Demon's Souls was the hardest game ever... then I said I beat it... but that's it. Everyone who owns it here has beaten it pretty much, it's not a life changing achievement, you beat a frickin game.
Oh wait... opened your profile... you are a Lemming or something who trolls PS3 games judging by how inFAMOUs is rated a 6.5, DS a 6.5, and Killzone 2 a 6.0. Nothing to see here, just another troll. Or someone with very very bad taste in games I'm not quite sure. Also, you called Demon's Souls shallow... that's very funny, you must not have a good mind for RPGs if you find it to be cheap. Combat is nicely varied by the way, magic, archery, and hand to hand combat are all existent, not just hand to hand like you seem to say. Enemy models are extremely varied, they don't all have swords and swing at you.... and unfair deaths? Translation: "I suck at this game and will blame it on the game not my crappy skills," I've logged well over 100 hours and have yet to encounter a death that wasn't my fault.
If you're unsure rent it. You may get owned at first but keep trying, it'll click. I don't consider myself that talented with gaming, but after some practice I had the system down and had fun right up until the end of my first playthrough... and then well beyond that into New Game +. The game IS nerve racking, there were times when I'd start sweating a little, but it's all fun. Completely immersive, it sorta feels like you've been absorbed into the world and are fighting for yourself, not just controlling a guy by remote. I screamed when I got snuck up on by a particularly strong enemy NPC. It's tense, and it's challenging, but damn is it fun.I've been thinking of getting Demon Souls myself, but I hear it is pretty hard, almost to the point where it gets nerve racking. It almost seems like that game doesn't get a lot of attention, but yet scored pretty high on most game sites. I was watching some vids of it and was blown away by the graphics! Looks really crisp and detailed. I'll probably get it eventually, but it will have to get in line behind GOW3, RDR, and Alan Wake.Demon's Souls is not to be missed. I'm kind of interested in the transformers game though, especially after the IGN review. Still, Demon's Souls is awesome.
To the poster above me, Demon's Souls can be quite nerve racking, especially when you are venturing into new territory and don't know what kind of enemies (or how powerful they are) will be waiting for you. But, that's a good thing. The graphics are good, animations are good. Nothing too amazing, especially when compared to U2 or something, but they really drive the environments home.
It's worth trying at any rate. It may take a while to get into it, but you'll most likely love it once you do.
