Poll Demon's Souls remake or Bloodborne Remastered - which would you rather see PS5 launch with? (33 votes)

Demon's Souls remake 88%
Bloodborne Remastered 12%

I heard that there is a rumor about a Demon Soul's remake game, and that it might be revealed this week. It's one of the great Sony exclusives that would be great to see on PS5. I actually had no clue about this rumor until now. I thought Bloodborne remastered would be a great choice to launch with PS5. Which would you prefer to see launch with PS5, SW? And would this compel you to get PS5 Day 1?

Here's a link about the rumor: https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ps5-games-event-reveal-demons-soul-remake/

Demon's Souls. I never played it. I already played Bloodborne 3 times + DLC + Chalice Dungeons.

Lol.. how about some new game instead?? I mean I get that all of those demon/dark/Bloodborne are basically the same shitty game, but why on earth would you be hyped for a slightly upgraded game instead of a sequel??

Bloodborne just needs a 4K/60fps patch. No need for a remaster.

@djoffer123: If they could get the game running at a solid 60 fps that alone would be great, along with upgraded visuals it wouldn't only be a "slight" upgrade. Performance was the only true downside to Bloodborne (and many other from, software games) and while it never got in the way of my,gameplay experience, having it run smoother and more consistent would be damn nice.

Demon's Souls was my favorite game from the ps3 generation. A proper remake would be very welcome in my home.

Bloodborne is perfection but, what is better than perfection that is Bloodborne? Bloodborne 2 announcement. I go with Demon's souls remake.

From Soft had to cut an entire level in Demon's Souls and I hope whoever doing the remaster remade that level, add a few more levels and shortcuts to existing ones. Cause if I remembers correctly some levels in Demon's Souls doesn't have shortcut to boss at all and its so frustrating when u die.

If Sony launches with Bloodborne sequel, that might be the one IP I can see making the biggest difference in getting people to buy a PS5 at launch.

But I am not sure a remaster or remake of anything is a good idea to launch with, might send wrong message. Maybe at best, free Bloodborne update for PS5 users, that would be nice.

Why not make a sequel?

I can understand a remake of Demon Souls but Bloodborne only needs an update for higher framerate. The visuals are solid as is.

People are so enamored by remakes now lol.

Demon's Souls does NOT need to be remade, ever. Considering why the game blew up in popularity in the first place (challenging gameplay), a remake risks stripping that attraction away.

Neither. Played both of them to death, and i want FROM to focus on new ip's with same'ish gameplay mechanics. Fromsoft has enough talent to create a bunch of different games that are all 9/10+ worthy, they aren't your Bioware or Ubi, devs that can only create zero risk sequels, and fail at doing something this simple.

They both deserve better then they got under Sony. I'd prefer Demon's Souls because even tho Bloodborne has performance issues it still better than DeS on PS3. Plus I've been wanting a populated DeS servers for a while now.

It's unlikely that From would be the ones working on these titles.

I heard a rumor that Bluepoint is working on a Demon's Souls re-something.

@pyro1245: I don't trust anybody to work on anything Souls related but Fromsoft, especially if its a proper remake and not just a cash grab remaster.

I am not sure I understand the risks of stripping the difficulty away. From Software has not struggled in this area.

Bloodborne looks fine. And I don't even care about a 60fps patch. I platinumed the game and have moved on. Give me the sequel!!!!

As for Demon's Souls, a full remaster/remake would be much appreciated. The game is brilliant, and very old. FS could polish it up and add new content, launch it on the PS5 with new server support and online components and I'd be very happy, as would the community of Souls fans.

Both would be great to get both but I’d probably go more for a Bloodborne remaster. I haven’t played it yet but I have seen a great deal of gameplay from it and it looks to be just a bit more appealing to me.

The point is: From Soft games are generally gameplay intensive and why they're so popular. The gameplay at hand is majorly what makes them so successful.

Atmosphere and exploration is a major draw too, and that's more reasonable to update. A remake over a remaster, to me inclines a major overhaul in the gameplay as well, which to me just doesn't feel right for this type of game.

Remakes at the end of the day should be reserved attempts to make a better version of the material, not just remake for the sake of it.

I already view Demon's Souls as a masterpiece that bares little reason why it should be remade in the first place. Give it a visual and performance remaster but leave everything else about it alone.

Game runs like crap on PS3. Luckily that is not the source of challenge for Demon's Souls.

While you can technically get this gem running on PC with upscaled graphics and a smooth frame rate, I'd love to see a remaster if only to get a new set of servers up and running.

This game is no longer accessible for new From fans. That should be enough right there to warrant a re-release.

Demon's Souls needs a re-release, and badly.

This was said about RE2, and we all know what happened. If its properly done, the masterpiece can only become even better. But fromsoft isn't exactly a great developer when it comes to upgrading, be it visually or technically. Another thing that would be extremely important for me, but i know for a fact it wouldn't change (if there was a remake/remaster to begin with), is a complete rebalance of all weapons and spells for pvp purposes. It was so poorly balanced its kinda laughable, but permanently stunlocking someone was also fun... i guess.

I get what you are saying. They could however port it to the newer systems while keeping the core the same.

Which to me it then falls under the remaster category, which I'm much more open to for this game.

Yea, it makes sense. Just let people play it on PS5 where it will be upscaled for that system. People really love their Demon’s Souls. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

Probably because for a lot of people Demon's Souls was their first Souls game. It was for me. I remember it as a much better game than Dark Souls because I played it first though if I played them both now I would probably disagree with myself lol.

Nostalgia, in videogaming terms, often fools you into thinking things were better than they were. That's okay as long as you don't go back and revisit whatever 'legend' you've created in your own mind, even remastered.

They learned a lot of things along the way, culminating in Bloodborne which for me is an absolute f***ing masterpiece of game design. Can't wait for Elden Ring, always look forward IMO, the industry as a whole spends far too much time dwelling on and re-inventing the past.

Neither. Make a sequel or a new IP. Remakes are fine if it's made from the ground up. Remasters are mostly lazily done, so no to remasters.

Oh, wait. Elden Ring is a thing.

Demons Souls of course one of the best PS3 games. I would love to see a remastered and updated version of Tower of Latria and Shrine of Storms. Bloodbourne feels too recent and only needs a patch to up the resolution and framerate. Doesn't need a re-release yet, keep it for PS6 onwards.

Neither just need a sequel to one. Unless they are going to add the missing area in Demon's Souls then I'd be ok with that.
