Destroying the myth: Does Wii really has the best exclusives?

Whanever I saw a poll "Which one has the best exclusives" the winner is usually Wii and if there's a poll "Which one has the best library" it goes to 360.

But is it really true that Wii has the best exclusives? Personally, I don't think so.

For now, let's take a look at the top 10 best PS3 exclusives according to GS scores:

1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (10)

2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (9.5) - Stealth - Game of the Year

3. God of War III (9.0) - Hack and Slash

4. Little Big Planet (9.0) - Platformer

5. Demon's Soul (9.0) - RPG - Game of the Year

6. Killzone 2 (9.0) - FPS

7. inFamous (9.0) - Sandbox

8. Resistance 2 (9.0) - FPS

9. Heavy Rain (8.5) - Interactive Movie

10. Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time (8.5) - Platformer

Now take a look at 10 best Wii exclusives according to GS:

1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (10) - Platformer

2. Super Mario Galaxy (9.5) - Platformer - Game of the Year

3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (9.5) - Fighting

4. WarioWare: Smooth Moves (9.1) - Platformer

5. No More Heroes (9.0) - Hack and Slash

6. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (8.8) - Action Adventure

7. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (8.5) - Shooter

8. Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (8.5) - Platformer

9. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (8.5) - Platformer

10. Sin and Punishment 2: Star Sucessor (8.5) - Shooter

When we compared it, PS3 has 1 AAAAE and 8 AAAE while Wii has 1 AAAAE and 4 AAAE. Sure, Wii has more AAE, but do you really have the TIME and MONEY to play all of that? I don't think so

Moreover, when we look at PS3 exclusives, it has so many genres, such as Stealth (MGS 4), Third Person Shooter (Uncharted 2), First Person Shooter (Killzone 2, Resistance 2), Sandbox Games (inFamous), Platformer (LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank), Hack and Slash (God of War III), RPG (Demon's Soul) and interactive movie (Heavy Rain)

While Wii only had platforming (SMG, SMG 2, Zack and Wiki, Warioware, NSMB Wii), action adventure (NMH, LoZ: TW) and shooter (S&P 2, MP3) I know Wii aimed for the kids so there's so many platformer for Wii but when you want another genre such as stealth adventure, you can't find it on Wii.

Because of lack of AAA quality title and various genre, I do think PS3 has better exclusives than Wii.

I think it's more of a tabulation game when it comes to these types of discussions.

the wii has the most quality exclusives i personally think it has the best exclusives and the majority agrees to that statement but its personal taste however.

Exclusives depend entirely on preference... so to formulate an objective argument around completely subjective variables makes the entire situation paradoxical.

I personally have little interest in most exclusives to begin with (on all three consoles, aside from the odd game here and there) and much prefer to play all the multiplats... which makes for me at least, owning a Wii and PS3 very unnecessary, especially considering my financial situation (being completely broke). However, now the PS3 is getting a significant amount of more exclusives that I am getting interested in (only until last year when Demon's Souls came out, I was interested in solely MGS4) I'm wanting to buy one.

Hmmm going by the poll results it seems that the real myth here is that the PS3 has the best exclusives :P

there hasn't been anything on the wii that make me wanna buy one, sure a game here and there but me and mario have grew apart in our years so i moved on "sorry mario i never have forgotten you"

To be honest, I don't really care for either set of exclusives. Most the games listed seem to be pretty uninteresting in my opinion.

we let the sheep have their fun when they say they have "the best exclusives", we know that's all they can use against anyone and let them use that without much argument, because we're nice.

So what you're saying is that if you ignore the massive amount of AAE Wii games and invent a lot of silly categories for games, the PS3's lineup only vaguely wins against the Wii's (and even then, that's debatable)? That's not exactly what I'd call "destroying the myth", but more "manipulating the facts".

If you're including AAE games, why not include all of them. Sure, people won't play all of them, but doing so would show that the Wii's lineup has a hell of a lot more exclusive games, and a greater variety than your games tried to show.

Also, it helps to have actually played the games that you're bashing. For example, I could just as easily categorise the games as:

Top 10 PS3 Exclusives:
- Action-Adventure: MGS4, Uncharted 2, Infamous, God of War 3
- FPS: Killzone 2, Resistance 2
- Platformer: LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank
- Adventure: Heavy Rain
- RPG: Demons' Souls

Top 10 Wii Exclusives:
- Platformer: Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, NSMB Wii
- Adventure: Zack and Wiki
- Party: Warioware
- Action-Adventure: No More Heroes, Zelda TP, Sin and Punishment 2
- FPS: Metroid Prime 3
- Fighting: SSBB

...and it would look like the Wii has a greater variety of genres. At least my list for the Wii's genres are more accurate than yours. :P

Sure, but most games in his list probably won GOTY somewhere. Sticking with GS keeps things orderly.

You can cross compare similar games since they are almost on the same spec for each consoles giving a fair view of which exclusive is best. Not just talking about graphics lol.

Both communities are always battling it out. Without the stiff competition, games wouldnt be as good.
