Sounds good to me as the release calender doesn't seem to dense around this date.

I only beat it not like super long ago, but I found the first couple hours to be pretty meh as it was standard like enter factory, do job, sneak or kill everyone, eventually it opens up with a big city and stuff, more like an RPG. :P But fair enough. Nice to see a release date, was afraid it would be pushed back into next year.

I agree. Especially compared to todays games, the interface and controls can seem clunky. It also doesn't help that the graphics, that weren't even that good back in 2000, haven't aged to gracefully.
Don't get me wrong though, this is clearly among my 3 favorite games.
Im not sure if I would be able to purchase the game at that time in the summer but I'll be sure to get it September the latest. I just wish we get a demo as Im still not sure if I should purchase it due to my dislike for the FPS genre, but of course Deus Ex is definitely more than your run-of-the-mill FPS so I am definitely interested.
Why they need all that time? Just release it on april.dakan45
polish maybe? Anyway if they need the time then it much be for a very good reason.

Thats my point, the game was so close to release they even showed gamestop exclusive weapons and now they need all those months? What is going on?[QUOTE="Swift_Boss_A"][QUOTE="dakan45"]Why they need all that time? Just release it on april.dakan45

What is going on?Either they want to release it at a time where there is less competition, of course summer is the best time for that or the the devs realised the game is quite buggy and need the extra months for testing and fix. What ever the case it's not that big of a delay. There were rumours that it wouldn't make it to store shelves until April 2012 so Summer 2011 is awesome news.

Those rumors were missinformed. They wanted to delay it to the next fiscal year which starts on April 2011. For economical reasons within square enix. Now why they gonna hold it off may, june, july and release it on August.[QUOTE="Swift_Boss_A"][QUOTE="dakan45"] Thats my point, the game was so close to release they even showed gamestop exclusive weapons and now they need all those months? If they rushed it and it was buggy you'd be pretty upset.Yes!!!:D and DAMNIT!!!!
I probably will be burnt out of cash with the 3DS and well life:P, but I'll try and find some from somewhere... I mean life DOES come before video games.:P

Yep, the shooting mecanics were mediocre and slow back in 2000, though that's because it's a RPG/Stealth game with loose FPS elements. It's AI is pretty bad, and the voice acting is laughable. The visuals were rough around the edges since it released, with bad models. The textures are still pretty good though, i guess. Standards have risen much higher now, considering it's ben 11 years.
But I think it's the open-endness in which you can approach any situation, fantastic cyber-punk atmosphere, incredibly good soundtrack, minutely detailed world, and neatly sewn conspiracy story that gives this game endless replayability, and manages to attract a good number of new people each year. In those regards, it is untouchable. There's simply nothing like it unfortunately, i don't know why developers evade the cyber-punk-distopian theme in RPGs and stick with this already cliche infested Tolkien settings or Sci Fi settings.
