I never got into the previous games at all but the E3 2010 trailer really makes me want to try this new game in the series.

Yeah the trailer is trully insane but juding by the previous 2 it does not represent the gameplay of that specific game in any way.

Play the original, then you will hate this one, I gurantee it. :) No developer makes experiences as unique as Deus Ex anymore.

I meant not in the exact same way, like there being 4 or 5 ways to go about a situation, vents and underwater parts everywhere, hacking computers, turning turrets onto enemies, etc. Of course unique experiences exist, its just no developer is going to try to make a game like Deus Ex these days, follow the same kind of gameplay in terms of freedom and options.

If you play the original now, you will hate it. It has things that are completly denied by gamedevelopers nowadays, such as the super mega innacurate guns and guns with only 6 bullets. Things like that that make no sense so current devs dont use them.

People also conveniantly forget how rubbish hacking and such was, stand there hitting the "Use hack tool" button over and over until the door popped :? Compare that to the awesome that is the hacking of Bioshock or the lock picking of Fallout 3/Oblivion...

It's a hella lot better than seeing a random number go down and the door/computer/whatever magically pop open, nothing different skillful or fun about that at all, just a choice on which number goes down. Pretty crappy imo.

i suppose....IMO all these mini games these days are ok at first, but after a few hours are just extremely annoying

mass effect 2 which i'm playing right now comes to mind

watching a number go down takes like 2 seconds where as a mini game is about 20....so take your pick i guess...plus the higher your skill is at hacking and lockpicking the less amount of time it'll take

besides i'm the kind of Deus Ex player who'd always find a way to get around that...i rarely ever use lockpicks or multitools

A lot of developers have actually taken pointers from Deus Ex. It's everywhere now.

Well ideally you could indeed avoid the minigames if you don't want to do them, which you can in Bioshock and Fallout 3, thankfully :)
