based trophies/achievements in Single Player games that rely on at least 4 ppl to even start a match making alot of the trophies and platinums/achievements unobtainable when the multiplayer lacks any appeal to even bother playing? Has anyone else noticed this? For example, Fear 2 andRed Faction Guerilla. I mean is any game worth playing 1000's of hours or waiting for enough ppl to hope and pray you get the trophy/achievement for the online? I can understand reasonable online trophies/achievements if and only if the multiplayer online is even worth playing (ie KZ2 Haloetc)but alot of games aren't even fun enough to play the online on so I think they should leave the trophies/achievements for Single Player only.

It's annoying and sometimes frustrating. Oft times, MP in games such as RDR doesn't interest me, yet they are continually being included. Ahhh well, i'll survive either way.

Kill 1,000,000 peeps.

Win 500 games on 1st place.

Be the 1st place of the World.

Yeah, I don't even bother with MP trophies anymore.

trophies im less sympathetic to since the online is free...

I'm fairly convinced getting a winning streak of 10 in Shadowrun is impossible.

especially when I DC every 5-7th game.

they don't really bother me, if you dwell on them, they might for you.

better to just play the game instead of forcing yourself to, and maybe, at random, you'll get that achievement....and well...you'd probably feel even better about it than if youf forced yourself into getting it ASAP.

A great number of people like and buy games with a multiplayer feature, therefore developers will be more inclined to put more focus into making a multiplayer feature for their game.

it ruins games putting all that multiplayer junk in games look at Res2 10,000 kills wow if you average at least 100 kills a day would take 100 days for 1 trophy when i could get 100's of trophies in 100 days.....

I don't mean stop putting multiplayer in games but games like Uncharted 2 had the right idea 2 trophies for multiplayer in it since it was a Single Player based game and they were actually obtainable. If the game is multiplayer based ie Socom, Mag etc. then by all means add multiplayer trophies/achievements since the games main focus was multiplayer but if it is single player based leave ridiculous online trophies/achievements in the dust bin or add in dlc that focuses on multiplayer.

How many trophies do you want a game like Modern Warfare 2 to have when it's a 4 hour campaign? I believe the game sold 20+ million copies across all platforms and that sure wasnt for its single player portion. Some people play these multiplayer games every day for months at a time and barely care about the trophies/achievs

I didn't say anything about MW2 more ppl are interested in playing multiplayer on it than single player so what it has is fine I am talking about games with awesome single player campaigns and below average multiplayer content that noone even bothers to play the multiplayer on or putting trophies/achievements in games that require 1000's of hours of playing online on to get a single trophy/achievement that because of that one ridiculous trophy/achievement it prevents platinum or 100% completion. I am sure the trophy/achievement hunters out there would agree. Dont put something in a game that takes 100's of hours more to get a single or couple trophies/achievement on the online that takes longer than beating single player and maxing lvl, rank, w/ein multiplayer combined or putting it in games like Fear 2 that noone even bothers to play or has to have 4 ppl to even play it.

Multiplayer Achievements just seem like a hassle and sometimes impossible to actually pull off not only will you most likely not have any fun at all when attempting an Achievement/Trophy you'll most likely NOT get the Achievement or Trophy.

That's what I loved about Uncharted 2 no multiplayer trophies. Obviously not counting the ones that came with a patch. Correction: It did have 2 multiplayer trophies, but they were very easy to get.

I agree, even though I'm not a big trophy guy, they're still uncalled for. I'll do you one better and say developers are making too many multiplayer games, which usually suck, when they could be making better single player experiences. Instead, their whole game ends up sucking.

Single player games should be the main focus of games with optional multiplayer w/o multiplayer trophies/achievements unless they come with dlc.

What's the big deal with achievements anyway? It's not like they'll win you a game or change the gameplay....

It changes the way you play the game and gives incentive to 100% complete it. It also adds alot of replay value to a game as well.

I wish developers would worry less about tagging on competitive multiplayer for games that don't need it and either focus more on the main campaign or develop more co-op style multiplayer

Isn't kind of silly though that we need the developers to create challenges for us to complete? What ever happened to creativity?

mulitiplayer games are killing gaming. so many games wont buy a game without it . that its killing split screen and signel player games.
