Japan, March 19, 2007-In respone to the suprise turn of events in which Capcom announced that Devil May Cry 4 will not only be going to Sony's PlayStation 3 but also Microsoft's Xbox 360 and PC, Capcom made a second suprise announcement.
Capcom Co., Ltd., a world-wide leader in the gaming industry, has also announced that it will release a collection of the first three Devil May Cry games on Xbox 360 entitled Devil May Cry Trilogy: Definitive Edition. Each game will be revamped to update the graphics up to the standards of the Xbox 360. Each new version will also include new material such as additional selectable characters, harder difficulty selections, and other bonus material. Online play is not confirmed, but is being considered.
"We chose to do this to to give our Xbox players who have never played a previous Devil May Cry game an oppurtunity to do so, as we here at Capcom wish to give our games the greatest reach possible", says Mr. Haruhiro Tsujimoto, vice president and COO of Capcom. "This release will allow those who have never before experienced this series to get a taste of it before the fourth release comes out."
The only release date set for Devil May Cry Trilogy: Definitive Edition is TBA, but Capcom has said that the game will be released before Devil May Cry 4.
Capcom will continue to strive to develop new and original games that appeal to a broad audience around the globe. Vampire_360

can i get a link?..
Edit: Guess it was false. Plus, thinking about it, I don't think Capcom has the time to start making upgraded ports of 3 PS2 games; considering they're in a tight situation financially and all.

It seems hard to believe, but I'd love this if it were the truth. I'd buy this, play the first three, and then enjoy number 4 :)musicalmacIt sounds like the perfect plan, kinda like how capcom did with resident evil on gamecube. Except this sounds more cost efficient.
i swear neogaf is the worst forum on the internetmwaNeoGAF is ****ing awesome, I don't know what you are talking about. Although the mods are a little bit on the harsh side for my taste they do keep things by and large civil over there, the discussions are genuinely hilarious much of the time and they often findout things months before "Gaming News" sites do (Ubisoft leak anyone?)
yeah but there's also a lot of threads like the one we're talking about here: baseless fake press releases that are put up just to start rumorsmwaThey are very amusing reads though, the fact a forum can consistently fool so many people is utterly hillarious. If you actually read them the fake ones are typically found out pretty quickly too.
