The game is constantly under 40fps and hits the 20's when action gets heated up.
Is this game too much for the Ps4 to handle!?

I beat it last week. It was a great addition to PS+ library.
It did have a situation where sometimes a character would not be responsive for one second (the game gets frantic, sometimes that one second is crucial), but the comedy and movie references kept me on board to complete the game. Every character in the game I saw that movie, hilarious.
Still a great experience, but I won't go back to play again on extreme until the update the issue I came across.

I had the same problem in the start of the level.
All controll would drop, like the controller turned off for a secound.

Yes, it was always at the start of the level. It would be three seconds of play, then one second it was unresponsive, and then everything was fine until I died again. It's a bug from a sloppy port.
Good thing it was free for PS+ member, it would've been a great game to release on PS4 as a PS+ title, I don't have PS+ and was still willing to pay for it but I'm waiting to hear that the performance issues to get fixed, I'm not so much hung up on framerate and slowdown issues aside from it effecting the control input when its crucial which I heard was the biggest complaint. Rather surprising considering the game doesn't look all that graphically demanding. And Free Lives has had sooo much time to put this on PS4 I'm surprised it released this late and in this condition. Still, for what's there, I expected cows to be vocally happier this was offered in March's PS+ games.
It's a shame really, I was looking forward to this coming to consoles since 2014.
One of our almost 10 year old laptops manages to run this game at 1080p/60FPS, so the PS4 port is simply garbage.

That weird half second delay at the beginning of each level? I hate that.
Fun game, poorly optimized.
Yes indeed, that is the very same one. I managed to beat the game despite that hitch, but some areas were extra aggravating due to having that half second handicap.
Fun game for sure, but it would be nice to get that update stat. :P
@Juub1990: You were so quick to troll you couldn't even type your bait properly. Or maybe you are just stupid?
The game looks like Sonic the Hedgehog, obviously there are some issues with the port, I got it through PS+ and need to check it out myself.
The developers of this game flocked to PS4 after having been influenced by NEOGAF lobby and then flat out lied MS rejected them and Sony were much more friendly...but in reality it turned out they never reached out to MS in the first place.
And now they proceeded to botch the game like amateurs they are. That and current Gen consoles' inability to handle Unity.
And stupid shills of reviewers never bothered to mention anything about it until just now.
that's what's you get by putting a weak tablet cpu into your console
CPU is too weak too handle all the physics lol Well that and the fact that unity is a terrible worthless engine used by hacks who can't code.
Unity needs to be optimized to work on PS4. This isn't Sony or PS4's fault, the developers should have spent more time on the PS4 version. It's a bad port.
Yes, this 2D platformer is beyond the PS4 capabilities. Truly your deduction skills are a thing of legend.
I wanted this game to be more Contra and less Super Meat Boy. I don't feel much like a BRO when I jump around like a little free floating dandelion.
Bad port is more likely. I expect these issues to be fixed if they decide to put any effort into it.
