Summary
- Three modes, Quality, Performance and Ray-tracing
- Lots of new and fixed visual tweaks
- Missing some graphics fixes from PC version, specifically volumetric clouds and some geometry deformation
Xbox Series X
Unlocked framerate in all modes
- Quality mode: 4K target, runs generally at around 57fps with constant fluctuations, VRR makes it better.
- Performance mode: 1080p target, 60fps with occasional drops, but much more stable than quality mode.
- RT mode: 1440p target, runs at around 50fps, super unstable framerates.
Dynamic resolution scaler isn't aggressive enough.
Xbox Series S
Framerate capped in all modes
- Quality mode: 4k target, 30fps cap, some drops. Again, dynamic resolution scaler not aggressive enough, and VRR can't help here.
- Performance mode: 1080p target, 60fps target, but doesn't really hit it much. VRR helps, but not enough.
- RT mode: 1080p target, 30fps. DF says this is probably the best way to play on Series S.
In conclusion, the dynamic resolution scaler needs to be more aggressive to really hit the target framerates more reliably.
