DF: Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 vs Xbox Series X/ Series S

• The game is aware that it's running on a next gen console and adjusts modes
• Chromatic Abboration and film grain should be turned off to make the image less blurry
• PS5 uses the PS4 Pro version at a dynamic 1188p and targets 60fps
• Xbox Series X has a 30fps Quality mode and tops out at 1728p and looks the sharpest of the consoles
• Series X Performance mode targets 1080p at 60fps
• Series S can go above 1080p
• PS5 running PS4 Pro settings which is missing details
• Xbox Series X has better details in quality mode including crowd density and lighting
• S might be using some Series X quality features but targeting a lower resolution
• Intro sequence on PS5 is locked 60 but occasionally driving through the city can drop the frames to the mid 50's
• Series X is comparable to PS5 in the driving test except for long lurches that can happen on the Series X and could be a bug
• Some missions drop under 60 where it's more stable on PS5 but it's mostly the same performance on both
• Series X quality mode runs at a locked 30fps except for when the hitching happens
• Series S is locked at 30fps with similar hitching

Umm... aren't the next gen upgrades for PS5 and XSeX due out next year... making this DF comparison worthless...

@Telekill: yes. I’m actually debating not continuing the game till the updates come in. Still have others to play and finish.

This is just going to be how the new consoles upgrade the game themselves, no?

SX = better quality mode.

They both have strengths and weaknesses in this game. Fact is, this game has been graphically underwhelming on all systems, especially last gen ones.

Edit: Which is understandable because every time I went on a busy street on my XSX the frame rate would plummet.

Yeah it’s not really a good comparison as even in performance mode they don’t have the same graphical settings. Will be good to see the next gen updates

Yeah I'm definitely going to wait until they patch this sufficiently and have the proper upgrades for the next gen consoles.

@Zero_epyon: IF and that is a big IF I get this game I will wait until the actual Series X version ... this game seems like it is a mess regardless of which platform it is on right now... perhaps the extra time in the oven for the Series X and PS5 version will help it (cant make it worse)

Yep. If you have a next gen console, you shouldn't even bother with it until next year.

On Performance mode ps5 more stable with lower graphical density. Series x less stable better graphical density. Quality mode best resolution xbox series x, no contest.

So the question is why doesn't the PS5 have the 30FPS quality mode like the Series x has? The video at 7:10 suggests marketing deals between Microsoft and CDPR, but is that really the case here?

I doubt it, they wouldn't want to damage there own game just because of an ad deal.

I think its a bit of a fanboy comment by Richard Leadbetter, they seem a little butthurt for some reason, and a time constraint thing on CD project reds part. They will patch both often like they did to witcher 3.

The game is a absolute disaster and shouldn't be used as a example of anything.

They literally didn't bother with the next generation consoles yet, and they shouldn't be allowed to sell a PS5/XSX version of the game if technically that version isn't actually available yet.

No one should buy this game till its fixed.

Easily the biggest let down I have ever come across, and even if they fixed all the technical problems the game is still a 8/10 at best.

This was meant to be the 10/10 ultimate open world game.

I guess now people can cut Rockstar some slack.

Its not like PC gamers got a good deal.

The game is hot garbage.

I won't be touching it until the next gen version is available. From what I've seen of the ps4 version it needs some serious patches to fix. Ps2 textures are unforgivable.
