  • Division 2 PS5 bugs fixed. Loading times are still longer than on Series X|S
  • Resolution is still the same and lower than Series X but still runs at a locked 60fps with all the missing effects back
  • An FPS dip on the white house lawn on PS5 is fixed with a PS5 restart
  • Ghost Recon on PS5 renders at dynamic 1440p in resolution mode at 30fps which is Pro's settings
  • Series X in resolution mode is dynamic 4K.
  • Settings are identical on both consoles except for texture filtering which is better on Series X
  • Series S runs a single mode at dynamic 1440p at 30 fps
  • PS5 perf mode is 1080p/60, Series X 1440p/60. both dynamic.
  • Something about Stadia
  • Some dips on ps5 aren't repeatable. It's mostly 60fps
  • Similar drops happen at random on Series X as well but mostly 60fps

So the Series S is able to do the same fps and resolution as the PS5 in "resolution mode" ... so maybe from now on we should be putting the PS5 vs the XSS instead of the XSX 😁😁

a few more note though

- Series X in performance mode can drop (albeit rarely) as low as 1296p in order to keep the 60fps

- the weird random drops (on both PS5 and XSX) are in places where there should be no drops (running though an empty room) and like you said hard to repeat the issue

How can this game not render at 4K30 on PS5 or above 1080p60 in performance is not a great look going forward. Makes me think to just hold off until a PS5 Pro is available.

Something is really wrong with Ubisoft, maybe it's a limitation of their engines running in backwards compatibility mode, there's no such disparity when you compare this to like every other game

MS has a much better BC system than Sony.

Yes.

Go on Steam, drop like, £5 and get all the old Ghost Recon games. Namely the original and GRAW 1/2.

Congrats, you've won.

It's good to know that devs are getting better at Series X optimization. Seems MS was late to give devs the tools they needed.

Graphics are not the only thing that matter. Actually, games are what matter the most. The PS5 is a great console it's just that the value is terrible, the company is anti consumer and the hardware is vastly inferior to Xbox Series X. However, if you like the Playstation games, the hardware should be the last thing that concerns you.

How is the value terrible for the PS5 especially when there is a $400 option?

The PS5 is simply inferior to the XSX, that's just a fact. When the new games that take advantage of the full RDNA2 set including the upcoming Fidelity FX Super Resolution, it's going to really hurt the PS5 gang. Don't be part of that pain, right now is the time to distance yourself.

$70 games, a bunch of high priced "remakes" and no Game Pass equivalent. Game Pass even includes PC Game Pass which should be super attractive to cows who apparently all own uber PCs.

Don't be silly. The PS5 at $400 is a great value, no matter how you spin. Touting $70 games when there has just been a handful of games at that price is just grasping. You would have had an argument if PS5 games across the board were all $70, but they are not. GamePass being a great value doesn't change the PS5 value as a system.

They say on this forum that the only games that matter are exclusives, particularly Sony exclusives. Those games are $70. Meanwhile Xbox exclusives are included in Game Pass. That's not a massive value difference? Ok now let's add on top of that EA play that is included in Game Pass and PC Game Pass which is also included. Then we can factor in how many games Microsoft updates for free via their BC program vs Sony always figuring out ways to make gamers buy the same game twice because they added visual updates unless their hand is twisted and broken off then they fall in line.

The PS5 all digital is $400, that is a great value but I would argue that the $500 XSX is a much better value because of the reasons I just gave. In any event, you can't buy an all digital PS5 right now. By the time they become widely available, you'll start seeing discounts on XSX consoles. By next year the XSX will be dropping in price to match the digital PS5. There won't be pressure to drop the disk PS5 since they have the digitial version for those who want a discount so I predict the PS5 disk version will hold it's price like no Playstation that has come before it.

It will run the same on a PS5 pro as well since it's running through BC. The game is not coded for the PS5 it's just running the PS4 pro settings but runs better because the resolution is dynamic and the framerates are uncapped.

Firstly, people on this board say lots of stupid stuff, so I don't use stupidity as a benchmark when discussing more objective things. GamePass can be had without Series X|S. GamePass is a service. When talking about PS5 value, a service that can be had on multiple devices is just irrelevant. You can't buy a PS5 or Series X easily, so not sure how that validates your point.
