  • PS5/Series X runs at native 4K
  • PS4 Pro/One X is 1440p with a resolution selector that affects the framerate
  • Framerates are uncapped to 60fps
  • PS5 has a slight advantage over Series X when drops occur
  • Some dips can have a gap between 9-11 fps
  • Series S is 1080p and performs nearly identically to Series X
  • One X can have a 5 fps advantage in cutscenes and gameplay in balanced mode
  • At 1080p, last gen consoles run on par with Series S
  • PS5 leads in loading times with Series X in second by about 3 seconds

The gist of it is that the PS5 performs slightly ahead of the Series X but but have significant perfomance issues in cutscenes.

Reading is crucial.

LOL, of course Sony couldn't allow a game developed by them to perform better on Xbox consoles. And even with that, the game still performs better on Xbox One X than on PS4 Pro. 😁

Who knows, maybe someday San Diego Studio will implement the proper optimizations to get the Xbox Series X version performing better, but I am not holding my breath. 🤣

- For Xbox Series S, resolution drops to 1080p and there is some evidence that perhaps some textures resolve at a lower detail level.

- PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X is 1440p with in-game selectable resolution. Users can opt for 1080p, 1440p or even 2160p.

I am glad, as an American baseball player to have it on the Xbox one X. It is the last console I ever bought and will buy.

Yeah that's a weird one. Maybe the game was built for last gen consoles and ported over the current gen? Idk.

I've seen enough benchmarks to come to the conclusion that RDNA 2 isn't what it was hyped to be. Folks swore up and down that 4TF RDNA 2 would beat 6TF GCN... Whoops!

I don't know if I'll should beat it but they should be about the same. The problem with the XSS is it has less memory then the One X.

Yeah, I think it's clear they didn't put much effort into the Series S version.

They probably just ported the Playstation versions sideways. PS5 to Series X, PS4 Pro to One X, and PS4 to Series S.

But to be honest, I don't think anyone with a Series S is playing higher than 1080p.

Tried it for 7 minutes. Threw a few balls, hit a couple, got bored, uninstalled.
Thank heavens it was on gamepass.

Yeah, but it's still fishy, because the Series S has more RAM than the PS4 Pro and a more powerful CPU/GPU, and they clearly just ported the game sideways. So it doesn't make sense with MLB.

The memory isn't an issue, because the difference is, the One X was designed for last gen games at 4K, and the Series S is designed for current gen games at a lower res. Also once, games start actually using the Zen 2 CPUs on the current gen consoles, that would severely bottleneck the performance on last gen hardware where the Series S will have zero issue there.

LOL. XSS already reached 540p ( at 120fps) in cross-gen games, or 900p at 60fps. Can't imagine what will happen with only current gen games. Believe 900p/1080p at 60. Battlefield will be first test

What is with these devs and uncapped frame rates on consoles?

I know the majority of people don't have TV's that support VRR yet.... Would be nice to see a locked-60 mode so the game runs smoothly.

Way to undo your stupid point in one sentence. Maybe the Series X isn't that strong in the first place. 🤣

Why does tc always when it comes to say that frame drops occur on series X doesn't specify that is during cut scenes and not actual gameplay ? nice pony agenda bro.

The biggest difference is one is free and the other is $70. Easy Xbox win all around.

unfortunately, he doesn't have an Xbox console (as he thinks it's redundant compared to his PC) so his only option is to pay $70 on his PS5 despite the fact that he's already a Game Pass subscriber and would automatically have access to the game for "free" on Xbox consoles..

the irony..

@tumorstation5: because frame rates drop during normal gameplay as well on both systems. It just drops harder on series x during some cutscenes. I post TL;DRs of the vids. There’s more info in the video if you care to watch it.
