DF: Outriders Finally Tested! PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S

• Issues with the demo like cloth physics are fixed
• PS5 and Series X are visually identical with the resolution being the only difference
• PS5 and Series X use a dynamic resolution that reconstructs to 4K
• PS5's internal resolution tops out at 3072x1728 while Serirs X is 3200x1800
• Series S renders at 1080p and reconstructs to 1440p with some settings cut back
• Series X sticks to 60fps unlike the demo where it could drop to the 50's
• Series S is also locked at 60fps after dropping in the demo
• PS5 is 60fps but can give a drop when using a special ability but not often enough to be an issue

This game is so bad. After the first demo, i said its Godfall with guns, and this is exactly what it is, except it can't even get to Godfall graphics.

Better run well when it looks this bad.

Garbage game that only got any attention because of the dry spell of games to start the year.

So they're practically the same as expected.

I don't know how anyone could play a game locked at 0fps. I knew series S was weak, but wow...

Lemmings have taken a liking to movies (The Medium) and they are benchwarmers who can only afford the S over the X (Phil's own words) so third parties have taken notice and made everything a slideshow for them.

Ah Yes! Outriders. The game in which I despised the demo because of the heavy amount of cutscenes but several forumites said that the game is actually good after the intro and they were right. I am currently playing and enjoying it. 😁

Yep, haters can hate. It's actually a pretty good game if you can get past the cheesy cutscenes and dialogue. Then again I truly think that was intentional.

Grinding for the legendaries can be a pain since the drop rates are so damn low, but the levels are varied and it's a much better game when playing with at least one other person. The difficulty and number of on screen enemies ramps up to the party size. At higher ranks and a full party the game can be very challenging at times although a bit more forgiving than if you play solo.

@WitIsWisdom: I kinda "love" the cheesy dialogue. But gameplay is super solid and the game takes you to some cool locations, there's an adventurous road trip vibe that I enjoy.

Of course it could be better but I think for the limited budget they focused where they should.

Not playing it until I know the progress breaking bug is fixed. I hear player base is reaching Avengers and Anthem levels, so that might never happen.

Nope! It is not. I had to replay sections in order to progress.

I am currently playing it as a single player and I am not sure if I am going to grind gear later on. This is the Gears of War that I prefer to play. LOL

Wouldn’t mind giving this game a try at least now that I have Game Pass Ultimate. Too many games to play these days though so we’ll see when I can get around to it.

@Pedro: I am enjoying this game too. I have been playing it sporadically and only as single player. I am the pyromancer class which I am told is the hardest to use in a solo run.

Higher resolution,locked 60 on series X , this is going to be a trend soon.

This is just sad, man. The price of the increased storage size alone makes up for almost half the price delta between the S and the X. You made a choice to buy the S and that's fine, but it's bizarre stomping around here calling the PS5 and Series X underpowered in reference

I actually hear what is there is good it's also not a case of lack of post-game interest, just again, the bug, people invest dozens upon dozens of hours into a character then the bug happens, it wipes out all that progress, players have to start all over from scratch, and that is why people stop playing, so yeah, not from lack of content, just this bug that randomly hits reset button on the players
