Modes

• Fidelity (Fixed 4K/30 FPS)
• Performance (Fixed 1440p/60fps)
• Performance Plus (Fixed 1080p/120fps

Visual and Audio Differences

• Increased LOD distance with increased detail in distant objects and foliage
• Stronger contrast with punchier colors
• Textures are the same but are sharper
• Motion blur is reduced significantly but also improved
• 3D audio support

Performance Differences

• Loading happens within seconds making replaying encounters more feasible
• Fidelity mode runs at a locked 30 FPS without a single drop
• Performance mode runs a 60fps with a few blips that dip by 1 fps
• Performance plus targets 120fps. Most sequences are locked at 120fps but some heavier areas can dip down the high 100s like the vehicle chase scene.

Should've been a free upgrade for people who already own the game. Sony has gone downhill these past few years.

Sony is truly evil to charge $10 for a remaster of a 6 year old game lol. Btw, they charged for the Nathan Drake Collection too.

I picked up all the Uncharted games for the PS4 for $10 to $20 each awhile ago so while it certainly would have been better to have free PS5 upgrades at least it won’t hit me as hard paying $10 or so for them. They could even be cheaper by the time I get a PS5. 😎

I'd recommend skipping this If you already played these games on PS4. There's no change in content and is just performance patches.

@Zero_epyon: Never got around to getting the PS4 so haven’t played the games yet. Could probably just get by with playing them as is on the PS5 but will likely pay for the upgrade.

The 120fps actually drops down to 100-104 quite a bit in the video.

Performance for me need that solid 60fps from what I saw in the video it doesn't dip.

When I have to choose between 1440p and 1080p on a 4K television, I choose 1080p and increase other settings. Since 3840x2160 is an even multiplier of 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 is not. You'd barely notice a difference.

not bad 10 bucks upgrade for 2 games.

50 for 2 games is not bad either if you never owned them in the past.

I rather of paid 70 for all 5 games remastered though.

xbox has there updates hidden behind gamepass 10 bucks a month which is awesome to.

this were a psnow should of came in free update on psnow but you don't own it. but if you spend 10 bucks you own it.

you think xbox would just give it for free if they didn't have gamepass? xbox would have to considering they make money on software sales. but they make money on gamepass instead. developers have to upgrade these games which they don't work for free. you think these games are automatically upgraded if they didn't develop the games around higher setting pc's?

not downing xbox for doing it. wish ps would do it with psnow.

the difference is you don't own the upgrades on gamepass nor the game either. were on ps5 you do own it.

yes I get it say gears 5 if you have the game its free upgrade but only because they make it back with gamepass scriptions.

Yeah quite surprising actually since it is an older ge running at 1080p. Regardless though the dips would not matter if the PS5 supported VRR, would have taken care of it no problem. However without VRR those dips will be annoying.

Wonder when we can expect to get the VRR patch, been more than a year already since launch.

So let me get this straight, you believe that if a person has gone out and bought FH5/Halo or if they want to play for one of their BC games and isn't a game pass member they would have to pay for updates?

The same time Sony ever releases VRR patches on their TVs I guess.

I'm looking forward to running it through again at 60fps.

Those are the rumors I have heard as well. Funny enough though (at least on last year's LCD/Led models) the Sony implementation of VRR is broken (you can not have local dimming on at the same time as VRR, which leads to worse contrast and washed out blacks, as well as lower peak brightness).

Hopefully this year's mini led Sony TVs have a better vrr implementation.

What? Again, I will ask the question. What games has their upgrades LOCKED behind Gamepass? Provide a name of such game and how its upgrades are LOCKED behind GamePass.

It's totally worth it. You can literally just buy Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy used for like 8 bucks and then get both upgraded for $10. lol

So, it is worth it IF you buy the game used for $8. Interesting.

Uncharted 4 is part of the PS Plus Collection. So, you don't have to spend anything other than the $10 for the upgrade. So, you are getting a second game and the ability to play the games at 60fps+ and minor upgrades for $10..... Seems like a good deal to me. Of course there should have been free backward compatibility patches though.

Never said if, Pedro. Just that you can get the upgraded collection on PS5 for like $18 instead of $50 afaik.

It's still very much worth it no matter how you slice it.

$10 for previous owners and, $50 for new owners is still great.

@BassMan: The PlayStation Plus Collection version isn't eligible for the upgrade.

For me it was an easy decision as its one of my favourite series. I have no issues with the 10 upgrade the fact I can play at 60 or 120 is good deal.

At first I didn't want anything to do with it as it is 50 euros, but once I heard the update was only 10 I got it instantly. Top notch game still.

The scenario you are proposing is an IF scenario. You don't need to say IF for it to be an IF scenario.

@Pedro: I didn't mean it was locked behind gamepass. Microsoft makes enough on gamepass to provide free updates. Is what I'm saying. I never said locked I said hidden the cost is hidden because if gamepass. They in a position not to rely all on software sales. That is what I ment behind gamepass. If they was the old Xbox you bet your butt it be 10 bucks.
