I managed to get one pre-ordered, I think. It's for my brother though. I am waiting for AMD GPUs before I upgrade from my current one. I won't be getting a PS5 for myself, nor an Xbox Series anything. Not unless I could find some good reason to.

Yes, but it was a living hell getting it! The minute it went live I called a Gamestop 10min away from me and they said they just opened the preorders. I made it there in like 8min and they were gone! They only sold 16 units. By then everyone was sold out, but on the way home I tried a another Gamestop down the street and they haven't sold any because their system was down.

I asked to wait just in case it came back online and they were cool with it, it didn't. So I made damn sure I was the 1st in line the next day before opening. I made it! 1st in line and got it. They had 3 physicals and 2 digital units. Thanks to the system crash I was able to snag one. At home I managed to snag two more off of Walmart.com. So now I have one, my kids my have one, and I got one for my buddies kid for him.

I have the optical drive model preordered with the wireless headset.

I got the disc version. I'll sell it to a desperate cow to make bank day one. The console will be good in 3-5 years just not right now.

Have fun with no first party games for 2 years. Maybe an extra blade of grass in a 3rd party game will help justify it for you 😉

So far the only first party titles I've seen on PS5 are also on PS4, or straight up suck.

Night and day difference. The SSD is a game changer. PS5 versions also have 60fps modes.

Didn’t even try or care too. Eventually I’m sure I’ll own one. But zero need to until a few exclusives come along worth while. Currently no such exclusives exist and all 3rd party games will look and perform better on Series X.

I've got 4 games preordered for launch week. Very excited for faster speeds, higher framerates and improved graphics + RT on PS5 😁

Haven't been able to get one and I'm thinking I want 3... 2 for sure. If I have to be that ass hole that camps out in front of Gamestop for 8 hours on launch day then so be it... lol. I'll do my best to get one for myself and one for my kids either way.

I just need a couple people that are on top of this crap to send me an immediate update when they get more pre-orders somewhere.

Nope... I didn’t know until an hour after the floodgates opened. I was ready to stay up until midnight to get one that day. PlayStation really messed up. Now I’m waiting until next year to build a pc instead.

@speedytimsi: The RTX 3080 wasn’t even available to purchase because the bots got them all. It definitely does not have a higher demand than the PS5, but I feel like a 🤡 thinking that I had a chance of getting a founders edition 3080.

Same. Haven't had the best experience with launch consoles. For me they're not even worth it until at least a year later. More games, stable system software, more reliable hardware at a cheaper price.

@WitIsWisdom: I signed up for all the preorder emails possible. None of them except Best buy emailed about the preorder time. They emailed like 30 minutes after the preordering started everywhere.

I am on slickdeals, one of the gems of the net, and someone posted that Walmart was doing another preorder at 9 PM Thursday. I "camped out" on the ps5 page on the site and 9 PM finally reached. Alarmingly it took a while to load at 9PM. I had all my info in my account prior to 9 PM. After it finally loaded I snagged one like Thor catching Mjolnir.

Sites like verge and others have updates when new preordering begins so try those out. Good luck.

Not sure, the store where I'm a regular (not in US) took my pre-order way before the official pre-orders started. I've grown to somewhat trust them. I'm pretty confident at the moment, but shit does happen, so you never know.

Yes, and for me it wasn’t difficult. Surprisingly my wife and I had just gone to bed and saw Walmart had preorders available. Order went through right away. I was relieved that there was no struggle since I no longer have the patience for fighting bots.

The bots are a menace. Many things have the "only 1 per customer rule" and next gen consoles should at launch.

Exactly, having my 60GB PS3 Fat model dying just a few years after launch with moderate use was so painful because i was saving money for like 6 months, i still remember i got it without a game because i had no money left so i had to borrow a few PS2 titles from my friends ...

Never again, funny thing i earn more than enough to get a PS5 on launch day, but i will never make the same mistake again and be a beta tester, the smart thing to do is to wait for the cheaper and better built revision.
