It's been out for a month, any numbers on how well it sold on consoles ?
I would think it did quite well for the $20 price tag

I don't think Crytek have released anything. No doubt the $20 price tag will help.
Still, i'd laugh if it sold less than the PC version :P

I'm also asking because crytek wasn't content with the millions of sales it got on PC, so they are probably hoping it to do extremely well on consoles I guess.
No hype and no advertising means no sales on consoles.I don't think Crytek have released anything. No doubt the $20 price tag will help.

I would be surprised if it sold 5% of what the PC version did.
It has got a lot of competition though

Indeed it does. This fall is killing me with game releases :(

There seemed to be quite a bit of internet hype regarding the port, along with quite a few statements from Crytek regarding the job (with much PR bull to add to it).
I don't think it'll sell anywhere close, but we shall see.

i agree, the download only distribution will not help that much eitherValue priced retail version would probably help sales a lot (dur?). Why restrict to just online? Oh well.

My wallet is crying in the corner, I'm very happy however :D
I truly, truly doubt it.
I doubt the game sells more than 50,000 copies on consoles.SW__Troll
It sold as well as the Resident Evil 4 HD version according to Xbox Marketplace. So I'm sure they made plenty of money on it.KC_HokieI didn't know marketplace provided sales data.

That still makes me laugh. That game has sold millions, not to mention all the purchases it has had through Steam that are not tracked, yet they were/are not happy about its sales numbers.
What did Crysis 2 sell on consoles and PC?

Steam numbers are released to publishers and developers down to the unit, so they are fully aware of the sales. Any EA/Crytek released numbers will contain Steam sales.

Can't seem to find exact numbers on Crysis 2 just estimates & analyses
I kind of doubt it. I had to buy it from xbox.com because I could not find it on the marketplace tila few days after it came out. And I also did not see and ad on the marketplace til just recently.

I find it kind of funny too. Someone here in SW has that quote from crytek that PC gamers don't buy games enough to warrant high budget exclusives.
Yet with the profits from crysis crytek was able to open a few new studios and acquire Free Radical.

it shipped over 3million, meaning it sold less than 3million
Crysis sold 4mil on PC and Warhead sold 1.5mil, 5.5mil for a new Ip exclusive to PC is amazing, most devs would die for those sales even on consoles, Crytek are just greedy sellouts

And they laid off developers after the release of Crysis 2

Their next game will be for iOS than I guess
Well, Crysis has been on PC gor four years. I don't really see how that would be too funny that the hyped up version that got a retail release managed to outsell the version that had a comparatively low key release. Not to mention it came out around the same time Battlefield 3 did.I don't think Crytek have released anything. No doubt the $20 price tag will help.

U can download it fron PSN north America, Playstation Home n/a theater or youtube .... and christina lee is awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR3yY9ljVOo&oref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fresults%3Fsearch_query%3Dpulse%2B11%252F1%26aq%3DfWell, Crysis was on PC first. An originally PC only series selling better on PC, I don't really see how that would be too funny. Still, if the console sales were bad I doubt they would have gone through the effort of porting the first one to consoles too.vashkey
Just because it's originally a PC title, doesn't mean sales will be better on PC. With sufficient adverstising and possibly a budget-priced retail release could have outsold the PC version.
We don't even know of Crysis 2 sales numbers AFAIK.

Nice, then add the fact that devs make more from a PC game sale (like Steam is what, 70% goes towards devs).
