I know LBP is getting quite some attention right now, but let's not all forget about the other platformer with potential. Solid platforming combined with vehicular creation is a relatively new direction taken in the world of platformers, but the big question is will that combo pay off? What are the latest developments in your opinions and/or expectations for this title?

I'm not getting a very good feeling about the exteme overuse of vehicles in this game. It barely resembles Banjo 1 and 2. The traditional platformer never needed fixing to begin with, so I don't understand this new approach to platforming...especially using vehicles. I still have this feeling RARE only made the game this way because of how poorly platformers have sold on Xbox in the past. So they had this weird idea to "reinvent" the platformer and use vehicles to try and entice lemmings. I'm not sure it will work though.

you really do need to stop viewing the rest of the gaming industry as if it's all one big system wars board.

They didn't forget, they just don't care. Its not going to be a good game and won't compare to LBP.

The previous entries on the N64 are fond memories of my childhood gaming. I just hope Rare can capture that magic again. Im trying to be optimistic about it since its the same team that worked on B-K 1 & 2.

After seeing recent videos, the driving mechanics seem flawed and broken and vehicles seem to be the main aspect on the game. But the platforming itself without vehicles looks really good though.

I didn't it's the only 360 exclusive I have a real interest in this year. That being said most gamers are just being really wait and see with this one even though the first two were high calibur.

Banjo 1 and 2 sold millions on N64. So, why in the world would RARE change a winning formula? So, yeah...I'm making a random guess as to why. If what I said makes no sense or has too much speculating, then ask yourself why RARE would change a successful formula so drastically in the 1st place. The only answer I can come up with is that RARE was not confident that a traditional platformer would sell well on 360.

I think in terms of innovative platformers, LBP already is very successful so that it's over shadowing Banjo.

Banjo's Nuts will be a total joke. Rare obviously has no-one left who knows how to make a flagship platformer game, so instead they decided to take some lego-inspired vehicle game that someone had an idea for and slap Banjo and Kazooie on it. This game will not even come close to filling the nitch of Mario Galaxy or Ratchet & Clank ToD, which is unfortunate for Microsoft because that's exactly what they needed this game to do. Banjo Kazooie was one of the defining platformer franchises from the fifth game generation, and Microsoft needs a good platform game. So why is Rare making it into a vehicular puzzle game? The answer: incompetence.

If this game gets at least a 7.5 then its a buy for me. 40$ for a 7.5 game is pretty decent, and if it scores anything higher than 8 then it will probably be one of the best deals of the year.

Agreed. Straying away from the type of gameplay that made the first two great has me thinking this will flop.

I know you are going to get called crazy for that, but I think there is truth there.

When you look at Oddworld : Abe, then years later, they made Oddworld :Stranger....they turned it into a shooter/platformer.

I thought, it was a good game, but it still tanked. My point is, yeah, Devs are very worried about the Platform genre selling well with the Xbox market.

I am excited for it, LBP will just get more attention now that it has been delayed because of those silly muslims and their oversensitivity.

This. Rare keeps on saying that it's still a platformer....but judging by the videos I'm not seeing any platforming. No...toppling over domino's and carrying boulders to dump them in a lake doesn't count as platforming.

Every video lessens my anticipation for this title. None of it looks fun. Still waiting for some footage to change my mind or prove me wrong.

For me, Banjo is currently sitting in the shadows of Gears 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Farcry 2 and Left4Dead

I didn't forget about it, infact i was watching some trailers for it on gametrailers.com last night and it really looks good and for $39.99 i'll most likely be picking it up because it does look like they've made alot of interesting platforming innovations from it's predecessors.

Regardless of what some disgruntled Nintendo fans might say, i know there a little annoyed with Microsoft having purchased RARE so now they claim RARE has gone down hill ever since, but i for one don't think so and i can't wait for Banjo Kazooie because the 360 needs a great platformer, after all Nintendo has Super Mario, Playstation has Ratchet and Clank, so unless they continue Oddworld for 360 only then Banjo Kazooie is currently our only hope.

When RARE first announced the game, it was really exciting. Finally, Banjo was back! We didnt get any info on the game for like a full year. And when they showed that the game consisted of vehicles and stuff, I pretty much felt like they had cancelled the game. Yes, Banjo was still coming, but its not the sequel I wanted. I feel like this is some sort of spin-off.

I wanted Banjo THREEIE, and I got a spin-off that doesnt look very good.
