[QUOTE="AvIdGaMeR444"][QUOTE="lawlessx"] [QUOTE="AvIdGaMeR444"]I'm not getting a very good feeling about the exteme overuse of vehicles in this game. It barely resembles Banjo 1 and 2. The traditional platformer never needed fixing to begin with, so I don't understand this new approach to platforming...especially using vehicles. I still have this feeling RARE only made the game this way because of how poorly platformers have sold on Xbox in the past. So they had this weird idea to "reinvent" the platformer and use vehicles to try and entice lemmings. I'm not sure it will work though. SolidTy
you really do need to stop viewing the rest of the gaming industry as if it's all one big system wars board.
Banjo 1 and 2 sold millions on N64. So, why in the world would RARE change a winning formula? So, yeah...I'm making a random guess as to why. If what I said makes no sense or has too much speculating, then ask yourself why RARE would change a successful formula so drastically in the 1st place. The only answer I can come up with is that RARE was not confident that a traditional platformer would sell well on 360.
I know you are going to get called crazy for that, but I think there is truth there.
When you look at Oddworld : Abe, then years later, they made Oddworld :Stranger....they turned it into a shooter/platformer.
I thought, it was a good game, but it still tanked. My point is, yeah, Devs are very worried about the Platform genre selling well with the Xbox market.
oddword stranger rocked my socks
