Did GS just openly diss the Wii?

If you look at this Call of Duty 4 preview, it says you can play COD4 on "any next-gen platform--Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or PC" when it comes out. Note the lack of the Wii in that list.

I really hope GS didn't say this intentionally... while I agree to a certain extent with the people who say the Wii isn't a 'real' next-gen console, I don't want to see that kind of subjectiveness in GS's articles or reviews.

It says "ANY next gen-platform" that means you could get it on any next-gen platform. Since it's not on the Wii, their saying the Wii is not next-gen.

I think we all know the difference between the real next gen consoles....and the ones that just happened to come out this gen...

Wii is pretty much the same as last gen, graphically its probably a little worse-the same, but with a new controller....it doesnt even allow "next-gen" games because developers cant use the great physics,graphics, AI and all of that...

Wii was fun for a few minutes....not it just sits on my shelf....havnt played it in months....waste of money

Its not really a big problem. Wii already has 3 AAA's compared to the PS3's 1 AAA and its the most powerfuk system this gen. Excluding the PC

The PS3, XBOX360, and Wii are all CURRENT-GEN consoles. "Next gen" consoles are consoles that will come out, you guessed it, NEXT GENERATION: PS4, Wii2, XBOX720, or whatever they are called.

Next gen graphics dont soley determine what is next gen about a console.

I think we all know the difference between the real next gen consoles....and the ones that just happened to come out this gen...

How does it not allow next-gen games? Games are meant to be played. Nintendo found a new way to play them. Every other "next-gen" console uses last-gen controllers, however. None of the 3 consoles are really next-gen.

I dont think you understand. Iwata used that term to make Nintendo and its product look unique and special to the competition. Its purely genious and they are unique but Iwata is wrong if he really thinks Wii is not competing with the other consoles.

Besides that graphics whores have their own lingo, not to mention their own demented way of thinking. They seem to think that if the graphics are not the only thing that is advanced with a console then its bad. See PS3 and 360 are just Xbox and PS2 with nicer graphics. Wii has nice graphics and Wii is more next gen then its competitors as a whole.

The Wii is a hardware joke, it's not even funny. Pathetic really. It's no wonder SERIOUS 3rd party games are limited on Wii, most likely ending up like a crap half-ss port. Besides, Wii would implode and explode at the same time if it were to run CoD4.

Sheep need to face reality, 3rd party devs would rather make expensive epic games on better hardware that would easily express thier work, than on last gen hardware.

If there are more of the same kind of game on each platform, including for Wii, there's a problem for Wii, since it's hardware is severely limited and frankly, obsolete.

There are some general expectations for next-gen systems and the Wii with its overclocked GeForce4 doesn't meet them.

See PS3 and 360 are just Xbox and PS2 with nicer graphics. Wii has nice graphics and Wii is more next gen then its competitors as a whole.

No the PS3 and Xbox 360 have graphics, audio, physics, ONLINE and generally everything else that are head over heels superior to the Wii. All the Wii has is it's control scheme (and I still am waiting for a Wii game to come out that proves the Wii's simplified control scheme is superior).

And Wii is nothing more than an overclocked Gamecube with a gimmicky remote.......an input device that's suppose to be a new way of playing games, yet, ironically, it hasn't even proven itself in ALL GENRES.

Holy crap, for gods sake, the 360, PS3 are not next gen. Next gens the PS4, Xbox 720 etc. etc.

I think it's time for GS to take a hard look at themselfs, Nintendo has gone on a fantastic new route this time around, changing it up, making something happen. They need to be congratulated for it, not be shamed...:|
