Microsoft seems like the first example of "corporate gaming." Sony wasn't nearly and still isn't nearly as questionable with their actions as Microsoft.Arkthemaniac
...You know what, screw it. Not even going to bother correcting these people anymore. Total waste of time.

Correct me. I'd love to stop looking at my Xbox with disgust.

Were you around during the NES era?
The reason why I think Microsoft is moreso "corporate gaming" than anyone else I've ever seen is because they don't really have a single development team. They buy games from developers to be exclusive. In this way, they don't create anything other than the console. A console developer should make games as well. SCEA made Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, and others. They have development teams. Microsoft doesn't, and that upsets the gaming world. If the person with the most money wins solely because he can buy out the creativity, the creativity becomes soulless, and gaming falls into the same rut that haunts every other medium today. It's actually already happening.
I wasn't around during the NES era, so if you're talking about Nintendo, at least they didn't absorb every competitor.

No they just stopped developers from coming out with games on other platforms all together. Told devs they could only release a certain amount of games. Dictated when you could release a game ect. They had complete control and over almost.

lol okay first off sony made games upon the first launch of its system? it had totally and wholy owned original games? if you can say yes to that then you weren't there for the ps1 launch.
2nd microsoft doesn't develop games? um sorry microsoft game studios produces and has produced many games and it has many developers under its name.
3rd how many of the studios and developers in SCEA we're purchased?
How long has microsoft been in the console game? its going on 7-8 years now thats kind of a short time to establish a major gaming brand...sony's had what 12-15?
4th: do you actually believe sony hasn't purchasecd a single game in the ps1 gen? ps2? or ps3? if so then your really blind to any thing sony does wrong aren't ya?
Microsoft is simply doing what every other competitor has done in the past, present and future.
They didn't randomly just patent it all today or something. Long ago they did.

You clearly don't know very much about either company, or business for that matter.
