Did Sony Just Confirm Uncharted 4?

After focusing most of the episode on Twisted Metal, details regarding the Demos available to download on the PSN and the PSVITA launch titles, Christina Lee, the host of the show made an interesting announcement.

She initially talked regarding the Online multiplayer contest, Training camp meets Uncharted 3 wherein gamers can capture some of their stylish taunts on Video and upload them to youtube.com/sonymakedotbelieve

Here's the main twist though -

Naughty Dog, the studio behind the coveted Uncharted franchiseon the PS3 and the Community will pick the Top 10. The top 2 players will eventually be pitted against each other for an intense Multiplayer showdown, where the eventual winner will become part of the ''NEXT UNCHARTED Game'', which quite possibly means the existence of "UNCHARTED 4".

It's highly unlikely that it is anything else than Uncharted 4. We can logically push aside possibilities of a sequel to Uncharted: Golden Abyss since Naughty Dog are the ones who have announced this competition.

Assuming the PS3 doesn't last for another 3+ years, I do not think we need another Uncharted. I think the people who are not working on The Last of Us should be working on Jak 4 or something else. I have not played the Jaks to be honest though. I love Uncharted, but seriously, give it a bit of a break and let its return on PS4 blow our minds.

Though I don't like to see a series getting too comfy, I feel like Uncharted is practically Sony's Mario, or Halo or whatever. ND have proven themselves to be amazing developers on the PS3, and truthfully while I'd love to see new IP's, the series has a few too many loose ends to clear up first.

As long as the quality is on the same level as Uncharted 2, then I wouldn't mind. Although, I do want a story that is different from "Bad guy with huge army wants to find treasure. Stop him and find the treasure first."

I would very much prefer it if ND went back to making Crash Bandicoot. That was their greatest IP.

*facepalm article* Of course UC4 is going to be made; Naughty Dog themselves have already talked about it in several interviews, ffs. So I don't see why people would be making too much of a big deal about that, especially right now. (Unless they never bothered to be up-to-date with Uncharted news, lol...which is always a possibility. :-P)The haters may commence the hatred and the fanboys may start the wetting of their pants, but either way, the next Uncharted installment is undoubtedly going to be announced some time in the future.The real question is when they actually confirm that they're working on it, lol. :roll:

But of course, I might end up being wrong, and the UC3 team actually does get involved in a new IP, but that would be pretty far-fetched, lol. Although the idea of two new IP's coming out of the same studio (and the likes of Naughty Dog, to say the least) would be a very unusually interesting sight.

Well Uncharted 1 they kind of took home the treasure.

I mean, it wasn't the same thing they were looking for, but a giant boat full of treasure is still better then going empty handed the next two times.

Also I'm kind of hoping the treasure doesn't turn out to secretly be some cursed item or substance the enemies want to weaponize, since that's basically all the Uncharted games.

ND already said that their will be another uncharted. Hopefully next gen.

Too much UC this gen, but with NDs talent I would love to see what they could do on some new hardware.

Hopefully this game is actually finished before they release it. Unlike UC3.

All the same, I do think we'll see more games in the Uncharted universe, but on what platforms remains to be seen. Undoubtedly you'll see some more on the Vita, PS3 though? Not sure, I'm leaning more towards no and that ND is already prepping a title (if not Uncharted) for the next console PS.

Anyway there will be more Uncharted games, but most likely nothing soon. Naughty Dog has already said that they took no break between Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 and after completion of Uncharted 3 they said they were going to take a little break and then decide to work on something next. Might be Uncharted, might be something entirely different.

I'm sick of Uncharted. But anyways, I know IGN is having some contest to get into Uncharted 3. Maybe the person will be a multiplayer skin or something?

Heck i'll confirm it, there WILL BE an Uncharted 4.

It's Sony's most recognisable franchise at the moment. I'm surprised they haven't already slapped on a subtitle.

Of course there will be another one. I bet Sony is lining up developers & game titles, launch titles, for the PS4 right now. They have to be thinking of the future.

I would say the same for Microsoft. Games are being lined up for the next gen systems, you just dont hear about it. What do you think would make a great launch title into the next generation? A new, unheard game or . . . . a massive blockbuster that can really sink its teeth into showing of the tech of next generation. Uncharted 4 of course.

I would love to see another. With or without Drake. How about Chloe as the new lead? I'd play it.

They should sick to making The Last of Us. As much as I love the franchise, they should end it as a trilogy.Warriorboy1990
