I remember PS3 being hyped as the next best thing, graphically.
They were saying things like "the true next-gen console" and "1080p standard".
But did it really live up to it's premise?
At first, the launch games were nothing special, graphically.
The multi-plats also tended to look better on the 360.
After some years we finaly started getting games that looked pleasing to the eye like Uncharted 2 and KillZone 2.
But even those, while undoubtly impressive, didn't really bring "CGI level graphics" as was promised by some early tech demos.
Infact the textures in KZ2 look kinda plain and blurry.
Then there was the next-gen of PS3 games like GoW 3, GT5, KillZone 3 and the like.
Those looked impressive too but in some ways they disappointed.
For example the premium cars in GT5 look amazing but the standard ones and the scenery are nothing to rave about.
It even looks ugly at times.
In spite of the Cell, the console didn't really deliver what was promised.
Infact I think it would be better if it came out a year later and have more RAM and a better graphics chip.
