Well... before, it was almost certain there wouldn't be rumble, so they just had to add something. They just kinda went with the motion sensing. But now, when it has rumble, i couldn't care less about six-axis. Kojima would have been the only one to utilize it effectively.
Your fourth option makes no sense. It should be "I couldn't care less" since "I could care less" means you could care a little, or you could care more than anything else, it just doesn't mean anything.
i think its a pretty neat feature... i personally couldnt care less about other people thinkin they copied nintendo or bs like that. motion sensing is cool and its the future (no.. im serious... the next gen would be crazy not to have motion sensing) since it makes for alot of cool innnovation (ex. stearing in motorstorm, flying in warhawk... and checking score/map in resistance (also getting fire off you))

Why though? Is the PS controller that bad or anything? I don't know... to me keeping the same controller is part of the whole Playstation brand. When people get a new PS system they never have to worry about learning the controls all over again, they already know which button is where. 'course I can understand for those who dislike the PS controllers and have hands too big to use them why they would dislike them.
it might need it. right now the contrpller isnt really doing anything to help it sell,unlike the wii. when you think about a systems controller, the company wants you to think something like"you know the ps3s controller? isnt it so cool!?" and acually think about the sixaxis feature. sony hasnt made any good titles for the controller, and its probably like using a dualshock controller,(without rumble on) in the future the ps3 will see better grafixs, more games, exculsive titles and differnt things to show off its shear power. In a few months you will acually see a reason to own a ps3, besides just an expensive centerpiece for your home theater

My guess is sony knew this thats why the went with motion sensing
It was made out of spite for the Wii mote and the success it was enjoying, soooooooo......nooooooo. Besides, it's not even like a coincidence, as proven by critics who felt is was "tacked on", which pretty much makes it impossible that they thought of it at the same time Nintendo did.
