If you're a fan of squeenix and sony games ..... it will live well in its final years. If not , it is dead.
Nike_Air
Oh what, so every Q4 it's going to cycle between A sony game OR a Square Enix game?
Piracy killed it. PSP is dead.
It's buried next to the Dreamcast. Stop denying that PSP is as dead as smeg.

36 million units is considered dead?

36 million units is considered dead?
What does it's lifespan have to do with the time of it's demise?
Stop giving the threadstarter false hope. It's unethical. PSP lost support several months ago.
Ha ha ha, I get the smeg jokes. And, yes, the PSP is well and truly DEAD!It's buried next to the Dreamcast. Stop denying that PSP is as dead as smeg.

Not really, I just read that the PSP outsold the DS in Japan last month. I would link it, but I'm a damn noob and keep having trouble linking crap on this forum for some reason. I found the article on gamerevolution.
While I prefer my DS to my PSP. I still think PSP has better games. Games like god of war, final fantasy VII: crisis core, metal gear solid: portable ops, daxter, ratchet and clank, patapon, loco roco, syphon filter and more.
But the DS does have cool gameplay mechanics like in the world ends with you, metroid prime hunters, ninja gaiden, etc. Thats why i like it better.
If sony released a touchscreen PSP with a stylus....i would buy it instantly .

that's why it continues to outsell DS in japan?
I like the PSP.
Yeah, it hasn't had any phenomenal games for a while, but its still a great device for music, movies and podcasts.
I have something to do while on long trips between Hawaii and California.
verbtex
If you are new to the PSP and you get games like GOW, FFVII:CC and patapoon I think you will be more then happy.
like verb said, multifunction is a large part of the PSP. PSP was intended and is a great companion device for the PS3.
Right now I have those 3 games (along with others DL games), a ton of MP3s, some funny vids and TDK all on my PSP.
I have used the browser for some sites (myspace) but tend to use remote access for youtube and other more memory intensive sites.
People filp out when I show them TDK on my PSP :P
When was it ever alive.Marth6781
You are so correct, it barely ever sold any units, for some reason, Japan keeps making up numbers, can you believe they said it keeps selling number one every week for the past couple of months? They even think that some games sell really well there too, Monster Hunter 2 was actually not a real game.

I am one of those 36 million people who have a PSP, and nothing on the psp had made me excited about it.
I just play MLB 06 the show whenever i go on a road trip. thats about it.
I never even knew my PSP was alive. This is scary :?
Anyways, there are games for the PSP available and there's some arriving. Just be paitient :)

Oh sorry, I didn't realize that you're not excited about it. I guess it's dead now. :|
Seriously cows. Who's talking about sales? TC said there have been no games out. That's what he cares about, games, not hardware sales across the world. Support = life, sales doesn't.WAIW
Games? 2 big games were announced last week.
It's funny that people(fanboys) say there's nothing interesting on the PSP's library, because it's library, if we go by scores, kills the Wii's and the PS3's easily.
DS fanboys state that PSP died, reality is a different story... its not getting 40 games a month thats for sure but its getting great games and many has been announced coming out later this year / early 2009... it also doesnt hurt that it has many multimedia functions and graphically its an amazing handheld...
For those who are interested in the PSP, just get one, there are many great games already out and great ones coming up...

40 games a month would be 40 more than it's getting now.

That's why he said "it's not", I'd rather have a few great games a month than 160 games that are mostly crap, it hasn't had any games this month, big deal..it already has a big library with lots of great games, and although it's future lineup looks a bit dry, it will improve soon. unless you think the Wii is dead as well.

160 games? It's not getting any games for months on end. Did you click on the link? This isn't the first time this has happened.
