Sorta.
FFXIII is exclusive to the PS3. I said I was never going to buy that during the times that the FFXIII and MGS4 were up in the air. I guess I was ok in getting the PS3. Sony by firing Ken Kutaragi and other key buffoons made some bold moves in the right direction... however they are playing the damn waiting game again.
I really never swore I'd never get a PS3, but I kinda didn't have any intentions of getting it this soon, that's for sure.
Panasonic 3do the FZ-1 Model which back in the mid 90's was like 500 bucks.
Terrible game selection and awkward controls, but the best version of Street Fighter II. So I caved.
Said I would never get a 360. Went from PC fanboy, to Sony fanboy and swore up and down (like the sad cows on here STILL believe) that the 360 didn't have any games.
I love it. Personally I would prefer a PC but hey, I don't have the money to build one right one so my 360 is keeping me occupied.
Sega Genesis. I was a diehard Nintendofanboy back in the day (I was young)...I couldn't resist and I had to buy all the Sonic games. majadamus
Same here, that and Mortal Kombat with blood. (Even tho it was gawd awful.)
Still have it with the special SF controller ! :DPanasonic 3do the FZ-1 Model which back in the mid 90's was like 500 bucks.

There are only 2 consoles I swore I'd never buy. The first was the N64, which was mainly due to me being a huge Final Fantasy fanboy. When I heard about the Square/Nintendo split I was pissed. However, once I saw Ocarina of Time, I changed my mind.
I have also sworn not to get a PS3, due to the way Sony's customer service treated me regarding some issues with my PS2. I'm still sticking to this one, and plan to do so. When a company treats a customer as rudely as they did, they lose that customer. It's the only way to teach them a lesson.

More people should have that mindset. I honestly don't see what cows see in the PS3. They talk about this amazing 2008 that offers what? Aside from LittleBigPlanet (which is sad that they don't hype this, yet they hype Killzoe 2) and Metal Gear Solid 4 there is no "wow I need that" game.
They seem to believe that Sony can do no wrong and that things will be better this time around.
well i never swore that id never buy a console. however i though id never get a PS2 because there was nothing really there that was getting my attention. i got the likes of GTA for my PC and the great ubi games last gen for my PC and GC. i went right off FF after 8....i hated that game and i played MGS2 on a mates PS2 and get pretty bored (im a splintercell kinda guy).
however then SOTC was released. obhiously that wasnt going to pop up on another platform. i was very tempted but couldnt stretch my budget that far (too many other games on my other platforms). then came okami....and that did it. i bought a PS2 with okami and SOTC soon after and was chuffed...there brilliant games.
PS2,
When Dreamcast died I swore off anything dealing with a playstation name brand, so I bought xbox instead, thinking it was the spritual successor to sega, but after year of waiting for a great game MS finally delivered Halo2 and I realied that I might as well give it a try becausePS2 a trybecause I couldn't really get anymore disappointed than that.
After playing MGS3 I never looked back.
Now thats a tough one to understand !PS2,

I'm just curious who's baught a console they swore they'd never buy? I'm holding out on the wii, but the wife wants one.carsales
I bought a PS3 a week after launch. Fourtunately I was able to return it to EB games the day after Xmas.... :D
Well, not the console per say, but... Here's the story:
I wanted nothing to do with the PS2. Being a Sega fangirl, I was kinda ticked off at what Sony had to do to steal the thunder from the Dreamcast, which was lying about the real world performance of the PS2, causing the brain-numbed idiots to salivate for the console like good little Pavlovian dogs, only the dogs were smarter. ;)
Well, I wasn't going to be one of those people who bought into the hype. And I didn't. In fact, I still don't. But then I was introduced to Guitar Hero II when my brother got it for a birthday present. It took over 6 years, but finally someone put a game out on the PS2 that actually made me want to buy the system. Still, I wasn't going to.
So May of this year, said brother comes to town on vacation, brings GHII but leaves his PS2 behind. He then buys one, and gives it to me before he leaves. So now I own a PS2 with no games. And it wasn't until July that I finally broke down and bought my own copy of GHII. In a way, I felt a little dirty, since I told myself long ago I wanted nothing to do with Sony's gaming division.
In any case, I love GHII. But that will probably be the last time I spend money on Playstation anything.
Did you buy JSRF, Panzer Dragoon, Otogi 1 & 2, Shenmue, and Gunvalkyrie? Xbox had a good list of Sega games:?.PS2,
