A good question here in system wars. Because some fanboys thinks that real gamers are the only players that play God Of War, Gears of War and all mature games.

Every game i spend my money on i start on the hardest difficulty available. Hardcore like that *cough*.

I have been playing video games before most of you were ever born (30+ years), and I never considered myself a "hardcore" gamer. The term has so much loaded meaning that is it often used for elitist and egoistic reasons. I am just a gamer.

No, I play games for fun and fun alone. Sometimes I go a little hardcore in some areas where I play a game for a long period of time but other than that, nope.

Sometimes I'll play a game tied up, dangling above a shark tank.Other time I'll play a agme with a controller rigged with explosives, and I must beat the game before the controller blows up.

Just yesterday I was playing a game on a 60" screen with surround sound while bombs were going off all around me, and being thirsty at the time, was drinking a blended egg and steak shake.

Definitely, I think a real hardcore gamer plays as many genres as they like, and not just one like lemmings love doing. Which is something I like doing, so yes.

Not entirely. I can say I'm hardcore on a few fighting games only. I've played Tekken 6 for about a year and mastered 2 characters and stepped up my game to tournament level. And then I've moved on to SSF4AE and I play it every friday online and offline. Still have much to learn on that game. On other games I'm just average. Example, in Pokemon I don't go catching all the Pokemons. I just level up a few and beat the story once and never play it again.

Back in the day yes. Nowadays I even don't play games in some days.

Yes, I do. I don't like easy games that doesn't require me to take an effort to get through. I also don't like Wii and Kinect.

Hardcore/casual gamer has nothing to do with the games you play, a persona can play Dwarf Fortress and be a casual gamer, and a hardcore gamer can be someone playing angry birds, absolutely dedicated to it.

yes, I have over 12 gaming Systems and well over 1000 video games and many controllers to play them with, I even have an Arcade Machine.
