Got bored with RE HD remaster quickly, planning to play Resident Evil Revelations 2 this week, hoping it will be entertaining as original RE Revelations.
wbu warriors? :)
REmake is great...but remember that is based on an almost 20 year old game, so is not surprising that it doesn't hold that well, specially if you already played it, so i'm not interested at all in getting REmake...don't know about Revelations 2, lots of people says is mediocre at best with some brilliant pieces but also some terrible ones, maybe i'll will get it once it gets a huge price cut.
Enjoyed both, RE1 HD is easily the 2nd best RE game (RE2 being the best) and RE Revelations 2 you can finally play as Barry (about time).

I think you could play as Barry in Gaiden (If it counts :P )
It's a pretty average. It doesn't do anything really cool like the last revelations did. I really loved the fight in the first where the boss would hide in the air ducts all through the ship.
Theirs nothing like that here though. A lot of shoot the weak point and dodge the enemy mechanics. It does do some cool nostalgic set-pieces that remind you of things from RE4 and 5 though, and that's kind of cool.
Love raid mode though. I think that mode is so much more enjoyable than mercenaries.

Rule 1 of RE, never mention Gaiden :P
Well Remake is the cream of the crop of the RE series. being #1 for rankings in my book. I have yet to try revelations 2,but I do plan on getting it later on since I did really like revelations 1.
I still haven't played either. Although I still have a copy of REmake on the Gamecube. I'm going to be honest, the only scary one that I've played is REmake and the only one that's truly fun to play is RE4. Recently I've come to the conclusion that the series receives a lot more praise than it should. I still enjoy it, but people who act like RE2 is the pinnacle of horror are jut plain wrong.
I liked the Resident Evil Remaster, played through both Jill and Chris playthroughs and even did a no-save playthrough. Granted I think I've done all I'm going to do, not going to do a hardest difficulty playthrough, or a knife only playthrough, or a three-hour playthrough. Whereas with RE Revelations 2, I get bored so easily I can't get through 1/2 of an episode without getting so bored I turn it off or put it on pause and walk away only to have the systems 30 minute power save shutdown kick in. I know people lost their collective shit over RE6 but at least RE6 was playable in a way I kept going until it was over. I stopped playing Revelations 2 and went and did two playthroughs of Evil Within just to get the horrible idea of RER2 out of my mind, as well as a double playthrough of White Night... now in hopes of cutting down on my backlist I'm playing RER2 quite reluctantly.
