Did YOU play Sunset Overdrive?

I thought Sunset Overdrive was pretty kewl (spelled that way to be hip). The humor and the zaniness was pretty much the best part. At some point, it got repetitive and I also thought the weapons weren't that great, especially for an Insomniac game. What did you think of it, SW? Was is worth getting an X1 for in 2014?

I got it along with my Xbox One but I kind of got a lot with it since there was so much on sale during Black Friday that I'm playing catch up with my purchases. Already knocked Alien Isolation, AC Black Flag, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Metro 2033 Redux, and Metro Last Light Redux off my list. I'm debating what to play next. I'd like to know what people think as well, maybe I'll consider playing it next.

Fun here and there, but a lot of the game was hit or miss. Mechanically the weapons are fun to use, the upgrades mean they get more beast overtime, and the amps allowed for you to go buck wild during some of the better missions. But the missions themselves were just lame after awhile, they were either the same hold your ground and shoot waves of enemies missions, or you do some unnecessary fetch segment or something like hitting 3 pipes to turn down the water pressure or some shit. The boss fights were straight weak, the humor had its moments, but then also did that video game thing where they are joking about annoying tropes in video games, that the player themselves are participating in at that very moment. That shit's not funny, that shit enters the realm of "yeah this is dumb, so why am I doing it?"

If i had Xbone i probably had played it but it is not worth to get the system just for that game alone

Picked up the SO X1 bundle. Loved the game. Ill definitely get the dlc stuff.

Nope, and I won't get too. Generally I skip Xbox and play its exclusives at a friend's house. I'm not buying an Xbox this gen and all my Xbox friends switched to PS4 this time. Looks like I'm out of luck. It's ok though. I'd rather be able to play online with my friends than not be able to play a couple exclusives.

I played it but it didn't grab me. Then again people that know me know I'm not big into sandbox games as I've said for years. There was scattered missions, some interesting weapons, but I got bored to be honest. It's not a bad game, just not for me.

Don't have an Xbox One, but I probably wouldn't get this game even if I did. The art style is great but the gameplay looks boring and unimaginative like other Insomniac games.

Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall were the most fun games I played on X1 this year.

@cainetao11: agreed. Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall basically sum up my gaming year. Sunset is dope, probably not worth buying a whole console for (but then again I think buying a console for one game alone is dumb anyhow). It was definitely the most fun, unique and chaotic game I played this year and my personal GOTY.

Have my seasons pass and am patiently waiting for more content.

I think Sunset Overdrive as a franchise has potential, but the first game didn't impress me on my Xbone.

I did answer some questions on Xbox.com as I was sent a some strange ballot on Sunset for playing it. I did grab some achievements for Sunset at least.

That bundle is under my Christmas tree waiting for me on the 25th. Looking forward to it and this game.

The game got two lives for me: at first I was seriously unimpressed, but then I learned all the skill moves and my impression changed. Overall, if you don't have skill but don't realize it, chances are you won't find the game very fun.

From the first moment the game was revealed, I wasn't really interested. It didn't appear to be my type of game.

Willing to give it a shot if I get an Xbox One sometime though.

I played it, It was a fun game. I got to play it for the Year Celebration of the Xbox One. I downloaded and played for free. I was skeptical of the game, but after playing it I'll get it down the line. Fun game.

BTW--when I downloaded it for that Day, I ended up playing it the entire day. It was just that good. But with my backlog I just didn't want to add it.

The game is awesome. Gotta love all the butthurt trolls in here though who felt they needed to chime in when they don't even own the system. lmao!! No one cares if you are getting the system or not. Halo 5 Beta is going to be crazy good. Can't wait to play that in a few days from now.

I'll have my X1 in just a few more days and I plan on picking this game up at some point perhaps I'll wait for the price to come down though.

My kids are leaning towards an XB1 for their new console. If we do buy one, SO will be one of the games for it. I wouldn't mind FH2 as well.

I've played it at a friend's house. The game was a lot of fun. I would definitely own a copy of this game if I owned an Xbone. Sadly as much as I was tempted to buy one with the price cuts. I could never justify buying a console for just one exclusive game.

I bought the game and played it for a couple of hours. I had fun, but i got a little confused with the controls and frustrated with what i was suppose to do with one mission, so i kinda stopped playing the game. i will come back to it though. I just need to be in the mood.

Might pick this up today at Best Buy

I haven't played it yet but it's one of my most wanted games. Once I get more free time (hopefully near the beginning of 2015) I plan to pick it up. SO was one of the reasons I bought an XB1
